When we are born do we all start out as Christians? My mother is Catholic. Im kinda confused on the whole Reborn thing. I was Catholic all my life but I recently converted a couple of months ago.

That's very old, actually. John chapter 3 old. Book of Acts old.Dark_Lite said:Being "born again" is something that has been invented only recently in Christian history. It refers to having Jesus "enter your heart" and changing your life and such.
Sadly, confirmation doesn't mean very much to far too many Christians that go through such classes, Catholic or not. Even worse, too many Catholics rely on baptism that was done to them when they were little and never really follow Jesus. They've never really made the decision themselves to become disciples.Dark_Lite said:However, the sacrament of Confirmation exists for a reason. That is where you choose to truly dedicate yourself to the Lord and the Church.
I do not dispute that. Many Catholics do rely on what Jesus did for their salvation rather than what they do in the church for salvation. Such Catholics are Christians. BTW, the same principle applies to people of all denominations.Dark_Lite said:And just for fun, Catholics are Christian.

JesusPower said:Being born again refers to being born into Christ. When you accept Jesus Christ into your heart you are born again. You are born in him. You live in him and he lives in you. The term Christian simply refers to the fact that you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that he died for your sins at Calvary.
