Hi, I have two questions about the Reformed Church in America and Christian Reformed Church that I am having trouble getting answers to.

1.) What do members of either of these churches have to agree to in order to be members? Must they state that they agree to any specific creeds/confessions?

2.) What about church elders, pastors, etc.? The same question applies.

Thanks!

Apparently no one here knows the answer to your questions. But I suspect that you will find that both require you to bind yourself to a confession and probably to a covenant as well to become members. Have you tried a wiki search for both or a Google search for them to find out their stances?

Hope you find the answers, twin.

Here is the current standard for CRC officeholders. It’s weaker than the older subscription, but stronger than the PCUSA’s “guided by.” It appears to allow some level of dissent from the standards. Covenant for Officebearers in the Christian Reformed Church* (2012) | Christian Reformed Church

The questions asked of new members do not seem to be confessional. They ask you to profess Christ and the authority of Scripture.

The RCA ordination service for elders doesn’t appear to commit elders to a confession, nor does the Constitution. But there may things I didn’t find on their web site.
