question about hebrew

I was reading a book which refered to the state of israel as "medinath Yisrael" I also read that there was a zionist group called "hovevei Zion" translated in the book as Lover's of Zion.
So my question is if I put them together into "a lover of the state of israel" what would be the proper grammer???
Would "Hovevei medinath Yisrael " mean "we love the state of Israel or lover of the state of israel or what precisely. i am thinking of putting it in my signature......

ohevei yisrael is the usual term used for christian zionists

I haven't seen hovevei but if you wanted to combine them all yeah, you had it right, or as JewishHeart did and say ohavei medinat israel.

Though keep in mind that's the plural; I think the singular (for a guy) would be ohev medinat israel.

I can't say for Hebrew, but in Aramaic it would be רַחמָא דּמַלכּוּתָא דִּאישרַאֶל /rakhmâ d-malkûthâ d-israel/ literally "A friend of the kingdom of Israel." I don't really know of any word that would properly render "state" in the modern sense.

To get mine to work, I've had to force my browser to view things in unicode.

If he were to simply change "<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" />" to "<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />" in the header, it would be perfectly fine.

According to my Shilo dictionary "state" as a noun in Hebrew;

sqj pronounced seket

bCm pronounced matzav

hnydm pronounced m'deenah

tnydm is the construct form of hnydm

So I only mean to say they are the "same word". It would be translated The State of Israel.

If you said larfy tnydm ta WnbbAx (chovevnu et medinat yisrael) it would mean "we are ones loving The State of Israel".

The "ei" sound on the end of "hovev" means me/I = "I am one loving".

If you want to say "we" add nu to the end of "hovev".

Hovev (or chovev) is a participle, and can be used as a noun or verb. Technically a participle can never stand for the action of the verb in the abstract so you would need a pronominal suffix (nu ending).
