  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Question about an employee.

“We have an employee that we hired 3.5 years ago”. Not “We had an employee that was let go 3.5 years ago”.

When you want to make an analogy it should match the facts of the matter.

The analogy in question would be more correct if:

The employee in question would have only been in position to deliver on promises if they had the promotion you are evaluating them for.

The alternative weren't a toxic screw up who already DID have the position.

You are such geek.

(I say that after just watching a "documentary" about Starfleet uniforms)
Haha, thank you. :) I love using technology as a way to help others, and also try out different things. By the way, the AI is free, and run locally and offline on my laptop's CPU. The AI is made by a French company named Mistral, and it is a 7 billion parameter large-language model.

And yes, I have also watched Star Trek documentaries, such as about how many warp coils are inside each nacelle. Each warp coil in Star Trek is made of tungsten-cobalt magnesium sheathed in some weird fictional metal.

Warp Coils Explainer by EC Henry (Duration = 10 min, age rating: 15+ due to crude comment's section under video)

Anyways, I have to get ready for church, fellow Trekkie. Talk later, brother.

I don’t mean this rudely, but don’t you have an option generated by Alex? It seems AI is your go to for everything.

What do you think? Not what a machine thinks. I’d really be interested.
I do see your point brother, sometimes I do rely a bit too much on artificial intelligence technology, especially as I use it to make devotionals.

This is my personal opinion about the matter (not AI), from a young man who does not like either candidate that much:

I feel that Harris might have had her hands tied, as the supreme court has a 6-3 conservative majority. It would make more sense if the supreme court had 4 conservatives, 4 liberals, and 1 centrist (independent), and for both the house and senate to have a 45% conservative, 10% centrist, and 45% liberal composition, so that both sides can be heard fairly, and that centrists can also have a say. When one part of congress has a majority in one party that is opposite of the president, things may stall. So, we must forgive Harris for some of her broken promises.

So, ideally, all government branches should have an even mix of at least two parties, with no overwhelming majority. Also, we must weed out the extremists to prevent stalling, such as the far-left, and the far-right, though, a threshold may need to be established to define what far-left, and far-right mean. We could let the centrists, moderate left, and moderate right define that threshold.

You’re correct. So you want to get rid of the current employee and replace with a past one. Sounds good.
No, I don’t. I was making a joke. reductio ad absurdum and all that

If I were her employer I’d ask to see her action plan for going forward before I made any decision.

But if there is no one else appointable it would be sensible to go with if she has the right qualifications and experience.
What good would a promised action plan accomplish if she’s shown already to not follow through with anything?

But she did. Biden said that all decisions would be made together. He gave her the authority.

That's nice. You keep pretending no one else knows there was an employee fired 3.5 years ago and if you don't promote the one then he will get the job.

I’m not pretending anything. The thread isn’t about the fired one.

It's not? Remind me what happens if the current one does not get the promotion? Who gets the job?

The thread is about whether or not the employee should be fired.

Seemst to me he thread is about if she should be fired or get the promotion as stated in the OP. If she does not get the promotion the other one gets hired.

Okay. But the thread isn’t about the other guy. It’s about the character of the employer.

But you know that.

Oh! So it is about my character? Cool. I'm quiet the character. Just ask everyone around me.
But you know that.
You do not get to tell me what I know. I suggest you stop this passive aggressive line of attack.

I feel really stupid. I thought this was a genuine question.

D’oh!
Same here friend, same here, It took me several minutes to figure out the intent of the post, which is an analogy. :) I feel that the employee analogy does not really fit Kamala as well, as veeps (vice presidents) do not has as much say compared to the POTUS.

If she does not carry it out it can be given to someone else after she’s botched her second chance.

Second chance? She’s had years. What about her makes you things will be different?
