“Fly My Pretties, Fly!” Is Not Said by the Witch in This Reality
Oh, brother! This is stupider than I thought possible.
It's a horrible film. Why would I watch it more than once or remember lines exactly?
No, I think the 'Mandela effect' explanation you gave is mistaken and is not a good explanation. I'm suggesting that we do a comparison with the faulty memory explanation using agreed objective criteria for what makes a good explanation.false memory is the worst explanation
since you are trying to discount everyone's experience
like saying they are fools basically
If you want to suggest your own criteria for a good explanation, you're welcome to suggest some.
You missed 'Magic mirror on the wall' instead of 'Mirror mirror on the wall' - just an old meme misquote.
turn on sound…
the Wizard of Oz currently does not say that
Klu Klux is now: Ku Klux
Luke, I am your father (incorrect)
just an old meme misquote.
You said the explanation was changing timelines - it's recorded in the thread posts. If you want to claim you didn't say that, you won't have the excuse that it must have happened in a different timeline...I don't have an explanation
I only know it's not false memory
But if you can't suggest a better explanation than faulty memory, then that makes faulty memory the best available explanation.
that explanation ignores all evidence to the contrary
otherwise it would be logical
only it's the farthest thing from logical at this point
Search your feelings, you know it to be true.
Sounds like "bad memories" would fit that evidence **VERY** well.
you're not considering anything
Search your feelings, you know it to be true.
Because it was actually Disney who got it wrong in the 1937 Snow White. The original Grimm's fairytales story, on which Snow White was based, had, "Spieglein, Spieglein, an der Wand...". So that's what the parents who'd grown up with the stories (in translation) knew it as, and the rest, as they say, is history.why do you believe you know it's a misquote
- you think everyone has bad memories
- in the same exact way
- about the same exact things
the rest, as they say, is history.
Star Wars is just a movie
And I've never actually seen it.
By the time I "saw it" it had already been modified with the insertion of the "Episode IV: A new hope" title card in the opening scroll. (It was also narrowed for VHS.) Though Han did shoot first with Han's blaster.
The line I've quoted a few times isn't from that movie, it's from the sequel.
Not really; there is no evidence to the contrary, only ill-informed speculative fantasising. There is plenty of peer-reviewed evidence of just the kind of memory 'glitches' that give rise to the 'Mandela effect' (and many more). If I remember correctly, I posted links to a list of articles about the fallibility of memory on this very forum in this very timeline...that explanation ignores all evidence to the contrary
otherwise it would be logical
only it's the farthest thing from logical at this point…
