Puzzled about efficacy of house blessings

Hi, I'm not doubting the efficacy of all house blessings. I've read anecdotes of how some disturbing activity in homes was ameliorated by house blessings. The thing is, if the household is beset by bickering, negativity, and no motivation to do anything on a daily basis (not just me, but me and my dad), how much can a house blessing actually work if one of the two people in the home does not want to be helped?

You know what they say about people struggling with addiction - they have to want to be helped - well, why doesn't the same thing apply to people who don't want the Lord? What will a house blessing accomplish if a person living in that house still wants to cavort with the devil? (even if they don't realize it)

I still think there is blessing in it along with grace. Especially for the believer. My understanding is all must be present who live in the home as the priest blesses it. I have not read anything about the blessing of all in the home are not believers.

I wonder if it works like a sacrament, having an initial effect, but up to the people in the house to upkeep the transformation.

I was reminded of the sacrament for the priest in the catechism and the question arose.

Are you saying your home has paranormal activity or you are just having fights with your dad? If your dad isn't a believer, then he will not cooperate with the grace of God.

God does not force himself onto others.

WE ALL must make that choice.

No, no paranormal activity, but I just sense that something demonic is causing me to always want to fight with my dad and giving me feelings like I hate him sometimes. Either that, or his behavior is unsavory regardless.

It was late tonight when Mass was finished and I couldn't stay and ask the priest because my dad was already very ornery that I was out already and every minute had me on my toes that he would call me, upset.

Well, my point of this thread, lol, was that I don't know if it can help if I have one person in the home who is obstinately resistant to the Truth.
