Is Putin vulnerable in the wake of the Wagner Group coup? Whether or not he was the actual target of their activities it seems that his position appears weaker now.

For those who just want to see him gone because of his illegitimate invasion of Ukraine and unrighteous prosecution of the war this is not a problem but what comes next?

Putin has been "tsar" for more than two decades. He has effectively undermined all of his potential successors. His strong-man approach has made Russia dependent on a strong center and he has even humbled those oligarchs that did not do as he said. If he goes he leaves a void and this is a country filled with armed groups of bandits like Wagner and the various Russian mafias. Would the ensuing chaos be more dangerous than Putin remaining? Of course, he will go someday so how will Russia handle his departure when it happens? This is a nuclear-armed state, with no moral compass where the ruthless prosper and where the general population is oppressed by a state-controlled media and a police state.

How real is Putin's vulnerability right now? What is the best sequence of events for the world as a whole? Will Russia's defeat or humiliation in this war bring even worse consequences down the line? How can we see a just end to the Ukraine war without the kind of chaos that could break the world?
