If I talk to young ladies I clam up and studder and sound like an idiot. I have a problem showing I'm interested or even just trying to get to know them better.

But I'll answer the question anyhow. I do have trouble talking to young women...I just don't connect. Very rarely anyway. Only a couple times in life have I met a women around my age who I felt like I can fully trust and be myself around. They make me uncomfortable. This is why I enjoy and prefer the company of older women (both genders actually) and men better.

Me: Don't really pro football games.
Them : Oh, so do you like hunting?
Me: Not really.
Them: Oh...how about cars?
Me: Not really.
Them: Just what kind of guy are you!?!?
It's not that I don't like sports, it's just everyone around here makes it into this huge deal that seems to consume your life. And if you're not into cars, hunting, and sports well...then you're not a "man"

Seriously. I cannot connect whatsoever. Everything is shopping related, hair related, nail polish related, maxi dress related, and everything else in between.....And then I'm all, "Um, I like horseback riding. And old movies. And uh...I like my cats..." Which is promptly followed by...
"Who are you? Where are you from? And why are you here?"

It's true. I really don't like shopping. I would definitely be a very cheap girlfriend (in the financial sense, mind you!).
