My daughter's Vera Bradley was a treasure find at a thrift store. If I remember correctly, it still had the tags on it. My mother had paid $5 or $6.

My mom is a magnet for expensive treasures at thrift stores. She once found a brand new Burberry scarf for $1.99. I think we priced it online and that one was somewhere around $250. My daughter picked a formal dress that we found was worn by one of her favorite tv stars in an episode. I know I didn't pay even $10 for it. It was the exact dress...though we added delicate shoulder straps so she wouldn't have to struggle to keep it up all night.

If I knew you or your mom in person I'd pay you two a commission to find such deals as gifts for the ladies in my life. Those were great scores. I just went into the Vera Bradley store, bought the exact one that my girl had said she loved, and then almost fell over at the cash register. It was over $200 on sale. Now she's wanting all this stuff from Vera Bradley that's for her sorority. My mom likes Vera Bradley too but not the leather bags like what my girl likes, that lightweight flowery print stuff that is at least a little bit less but still pretty dang expensive IMO. Strapless dresses are another lady thing I can't say I understand, lol.

I have a backpack which I use for work, just to take things back and forth from the office. I also have another backpack which I'll generally take with me when I go shopping. If I'm not going shopping then I don't bother with it as all I'll usually have on me are wallet, cellphone, keys, and sometimes sunglasses; and pockets work for all of those.

I've never understood the desire to own an expensive brand purse. That's several hundred bucks I could be shelling out towards a vacation somewhere, so it sure is heck isn't going to some object with a strap that hangs on my shoulder.

Geez, I've a got a $350 dollar Coach purse (it was a gift) that I'm trying to sell right now.

My girl really loves Vera Bradley too. I bought her a bag from that store last year. She loved it so it was all worth it, lol, but my gracious was it expensive for a bag! I checked inside, thinking maybe it was lined with gold or something, but nope.

I don't remember how much mine was but It was a Christmas gift.

My girl works at Starbucks & has had ladies come in after their morning jogs to buy their coffee reach into their bras and hand over sweaty money. She hates having to touch it. I think keeping money in pockets is better.

It doesn't have to be sweaty. It beats pulling it out of my shoe if I don't have pockets ... it would be in a pocket if I have one. Money is gross even if it isn't sweaty.

So very very true. Money is so gross, especially coins. They just feel dirty to me all the time, lol. But yeah... you don't know where that cash has been previous. Ew.
