  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ordered an English clay tonight.

Keep it as a display pipe. Smoking it will turn it brown.

Is it true that you can heat it up and it turns white again? A guy on YouTube said you can bake the impurities out of it.

When surfing that last I found a pic of an old figural clay. The beard of the man was dark brown and the rest was white. Looked almost like a meerschaum.

A paraphrase of a story I once heard about Moody and Spurgeon:

Moody, being a rather rotund man, went to visit Spurgeon. When Spurgeon opened the door he had a cigar in his hand (Spurgeon was an ardent cigar smoker) and Moody proceeded to lambast him and rather rudely pointed to the cigar and said "When are you going to give those things up?" Spurgeon, being the quick wit he was, promptly poked Moody in his rather large midsection and said " When you give this up." :p

Osage, I never heard of a Windsor Canadian. Do you mean CC or Canadian Club from Windsor Ontario Canada? That's about 40 min. from my place.

Google Windsor Canadian. I just had some. It's fairly famous actually.

I don't think this is a popular brand, at least not in Canada, you can't even find it on the LCBO site (Canadian alcohol is sold through the Beer Store and LCBO, they are government run...like Russian.) From what I can find online it is a heavily blended rye and comes in a plastic bottle. I know Americans love Canadian whisky and we ship gallons across the boarder but I had never heard of it before. The label does read IMPORTED in large capital letters so I think its a product make for the US.

Wow. That must stink to know you can only get the best Canadian Whisky if you cross the border.

You should come to Texas. We have great Canadian Whisky down here.

Don't tell the rest of US but Canadian Rye Whisky, well, it isn't really Rye. It contains (no joke) sherry, bourbon and lots and lots of rum. The only true Canadian Rye isn't sold in the US. Alberta Premium is not exported. By Canadian Law Canadian Rye just has to contain a minimum amount of Rye but can have almost anything else added. Besides Alberta Premium you have Alberta Springs that contains a high amount of Rye but not 100% Rye.

I don't know why Americans drink Canadian Rye Whisky when they have American (true, 100%, knock you down) Rye.
