Boy this thread is turning out very accurate. You even mentioned Blaster !!! I guess the only thing I have to add is mercury radio theater.

Mourning September & Kids in the Way are new-punk style bands.

Kids In The Way aren't really new-punk...they're emo/screamo.

But, with all the micro-classifying that happens in music today, who knows? Maybe "new-punk" and "screamo" are one in the same...

Probably. I have heard Superchic[k] be called punk before. That is an insult to punk though.

They don't really have an idea of what punk music is. And it doesn't help that magazines or whatever sometimes put these labels on the bands, and kids who don't know simply eat it up.
