  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

"Pro 27:14 A friend's loud blessing early in the morning will be thought of as a curse." -- ISV

It means pretty much what it says. Many of the Proverbs are "practical" wisdom. Most people would not consider it a "blessing" to be prematurely awakened out of a pleasant sleep by some well-intentioned goofball yelling, "Hallelujah! The Lord bless you, brother! Isn't it a glorious day? Glow-ruh be ta Gawd!"

Yeah, that's pretty much it. I've experienced that first hand by a well-intentioned Brother who felt it was his duty to wake me at 0500 on a weekend.

(Proverbs 27:14) He that is blessing his fellowman with a loud voice early in the morning, as a malediction it will be accounted on his part.

This scripture may explain it for you.

1 Thessalonians 2:5 In fact, at no time have we turned up either with flattering speech, (just as YOU know) or with a false front for covetousness, God is witness! 6 Neither have we been seeking glory from men, no, either from YOU or from others, though we could be an expensive burden as apostles of Christ. 7 To the contrary, we became gentle in the midst of YOU, as when a nursing mother cherishes her own children. 8 So, having a tender affection for YOU, we were well pleased to impart to YOU, not only the good news of God, but also our own souls, because YOU became beloved to us.
