Well, perhaps either God is a monkey, or the comparison is unworthy of the conclusion that we spawned from the loins of an ape.
Two things wrong with this statement.

1) The false notion that evolution has man descending from monkeys

2) That the image and likeness of God which we are made is physical

Christ is physical. And there are plenty of notions within evolution (I agree with you they are false) that man descended from monkeys.

Yes, but God the Father isn't, and the claim is that we are made in God's image.

Cite? All I ask is a single serious peer-reviewed journal article or book on evolution which makes this claim. It can't be a creationist claiming that evolution says this; it has to be an actual scholarly work on evolution.

If there are "plenty" of them, I have no doubts that it will be easy for you to provide the citation.

Correct me if I am wrong but did not Gen 1:26 go like this -Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

and not

Then God said, "Let ME make man in my image, according to My likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

ok the point im trying to make is that the chances of us evolving from a micro-organism is near zilch.its the same with the universe. it was not created by chance my freinds. if it was, what put it into rotation? where did the mater for it even come from?

This has nothing to do with evolution. Evolution describes the origin of species, not the origin of the universe or the first cell or anything like that. All it does is explain the full house of life that we now have.

Infact, even in an earth only 6,000 years old, evolution would still be true, it just would mean that it's had less time to work.

However, all we need to do to prove that evolution has had the time to be responsible for the full house of life on earth is to show that it is ~4.5 billion years old, which we have.

Wouldn't God the Father be included in "Us" and "Our". Therefor wouldn't His lack of a physical image cast doubt on Our shared likeness being a physical one?

The Father IS God, Christ (the Son) IS God, and the Spirit IS God. Thus we have the Trinity 1x1x1 = 1.

Gen 1:26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

Gen 1:27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Gen 1:28 God blessed them; and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

Since when did evolutionists NOT claim we evolved from monkeys?

Am I missing something? You guys just posted a genetic similarity as "evidence" for that very notion.

Some of referred us yecs here just a few weeks ago

Let's see....

The Word, mentioned in John 1, became flesh and dwelt among us. So, before the Word became flesh, at the time of creation, there was no physical form of God in the Son.

Also, I am not interested in misrepresentations of the Theory of Evolution. You will not find one sentence in the entire theory that has man descending from monkeys.

At that time God, or whom I believe in the instance presented below in Gen 3:8 was the pre-incarnate Jesus who had the ability to take on a spiritual or physical form...just as he has now in his risen state but not when he was born of Mary and dwelt among us in the flesh.

GEN 3:8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden.

Listen yall. doesnt it seem strange that there is no evidence of evolution.all we have is theory.just like we cant prove what the core of the Earth is made of. we can only guess. so why do people try and argue a piont that they dont even have refference to in the past. I need at least a past refference a few thuosand years old; and dont try and use Lucy or that other guy. Just cuase they're deformed doesnt mean enything. what if in a thousand years sombody found the skeloton of a man that was 3ft tall? you just cant assume that everybody back then looked like him.

Mirror,

Did you think before you typed?

When are laypeople going ever drill it into their heads what THEORY means!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the Earth's core isn't a guess. Please think before you type scientific NONSENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the stature of Lucy is not the only thing different. Heck she was Australopithecus not Homo.
