Just give me 2 1/2 minutes:
From a non-bias source:
Fast forward to the 7 min 20 sec mark of this video by "National Geographic":

your "non biased source" spoke pretty much exclusively to Catholics.
There were the Orthodox........Well... there is no other Christian church until the 16th century and since they were discussing St Peter's Basilica it makes sense.
There were the Orthodox........
Except for the Pope being Ruler over all ChristiandomAnd they agree that Peter was in Rome
SLAM DUNK !
And [the Orthodox] agree that Peter was in Rome

Ok you win. The Orthodox also believe Peter was in RomeOff-topic. You lose.
I always know when I score a win, when they other guy does the old change-topic-shuffle.

I am neither a mainstream Protestant nor Orthodox/RC.......And so do most mainstream protestant theologians.
I am neither a mainstream Protestant nor Orthodox/RC.......
The only beliefs of yours that I commented on were the ones where you made abundantly clear in this thread. I made and make no assumptions about any other beliefs. What do you know about my beliefs?
Basically I was just going by the golden rule of treat others as you would expect to be treated. You asked someone for evidence after giving all kinds of excuses for not providing evidence that two people asked for. That is why I said you dance around things that don't match your beliefs. Others had provided examples of why your statement would be wrong and you still would bot provide evidence to support your view. Instead you made statements like it doesn't matter to me or it is unimportant. And I would suggest you stop making this personal....
Sorry but my internet connection is too poor to try and load those videos.Well, I'll give you this much: Of the three threads I started with two videos and an mp3, you're the only person who has watched something I've posted. Maybe I should quit while I'm ahead.
Not if you ask the orthodox! Catholics have always claimed orthodox split from them while orthodox claim the opposite.Well... there is no other Christian church until the 16th century and since they were discussing St Peter's Basilica it makes sense.
Why would Peter be in Rome?
Not if you ask the orthodox! Catholics have always claimed orthodox split from them while orthodox claim the opposite.
In any case you do not have to be affiliated with the catholic church to be an expert on the matter unless of course the catholic church for some bizarre reason prevents others from gaining knowledge which would be very suspicious.
No, they weren't.Peter and Paul were martyred there.
It was pagans who built shrines. The Roman patricians did that sort of thing. Very rich, just loved religion- for the plebs, of course. The Christians even built a shrine where Peter was buried after being crucified.
When Constantine became Christian
Why would Peter be in Rome?
Peter and Paul were martyred there. The Christians even built a shrine where Peter was buried after being crucified. When Constantine became Christian he wanted to commemorate Peter and build a church and so he had the Basilica built right on the shrine where Peter was buried. Good historical story too considering the location was where many Christian martyrs had their bodies sent after being killed at the circus and the location was not the best for building on.
