CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello Josh,
I'm kinda embarassed to say this, but:
Do not stand on the street corners and pray so that you look holy to others.
And, how about "don't let your right hand even know what your left hand is doing".
I know you are sharing your joy because you spent time with HIM, but can I ask "why did we need to know that"?
And I am not being mean, I am just a curious person and sometimes..yes..have foot in mouth disease...if this hurt your feelings..I really didn't mean to...but it "is" a word of knowledge type of thread..is it not? And, when I read your post, though joyful for your time with Him...HE must have reminded me...that we as Christians pray in His presence in which no one else needs to know, we are even called to pray in a closet so no one could see us, true?
Sorry, I actually feel horrible for saying that..but I don't feel that I should take it off. If anyone else thinks I am rude...please tell "me" and I will delete this, okay? And, really Josh..I "am" sorry...I don't know why those scrips, which aren't even exact came to my mind. and your sis, hannah

lol...Do not feel sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol...I told y'all because I've never done that before in my life and I was really really really really really Spirit-filled at the time. I mean I "tore" my room up with prayer, praise, and worship. I didn't break anything, which was good because my mom would have freaked. LOL...
Well it's perfectly ok to tell people when and how long you pray. Nothin' wrong with it. We all pray, we all know about it.
You are NOT being rude at all. Don't be so depressed and sorry about typing that!!!! lol...Have some joy!

I am still very very happy that you experienced that joy! I know it well.
I just thought and I guess I am wrong..but I was "taught" that we shouldn't tell how long we prayed to others. I thought it was only between ourselves and God. But, that was not a great preacher that taught me that, so I am sorry...because I was told a lie...and that is not fair now to me either. Man, I have to forgive the pastor that was so mean to me I spent two weeks locked in my room from depression. So...that could totally explain my thinking there! Thanks for the knowledge brother! your sis, hannah...now

I think the real point of those scriptures is that we should not pray in public in order to look pious. I beleive he shared out of joy and celebration not to build himself up in our eyes which would be wrong.
