yall...I need you to pray for me. I really like reality tv shows.....and it is time for Big Brother 9. I am having troubles deciding if it is ok for me to watch or not. I really like it but I just don't know. And if I am not suppose to, I pray that God will give me the strength to overcome it.

I keep promising myself I won't get involved, but I have a question for you. A question for you to answer in private. What is your hearts desire? Is it Big Brother 9?

The bible promises the desires of our hearts, but it also cautions that our desires are only evil continually and that things we ask for never come as promised because we ask amiss, relying on lustful, selfish desires rather than on righteous, Godly pursuits.

So the question as I see it isn't whether you should or shouldn't, but rather where your heart's desire is.

Idea...Don't watch TV at all!

The most TV I've watched since September is about 30 minutes of Perry Stone's program on DayStar.

If a teenager can do it...so can you!

Amen! i havent watched tv in AGES! Just.. doesn't interest me like it used to.. i guess I'm more interested in the word than fake stories inside a box

I strongly despise TV. All they have on their are sexual perversions, cussing like CRAZY!!!!, murder, slaughter, etc, etc. It's just corrupted.

Except for the Christian stations!

Okay, I have heard all the arguements on the evils of tv. But, ya' know once in awhile there are some things that are worth watching! So...do I get killed now or later for enjoying some tv?

Has anyone watched Jericho..about the "nuking of America" and the why's? It's a thinker!

And, then we have Heroes..which touches base with "genetic engineering and all it possible sadness it could bring"...so it's a thinker too!

Then, how about...God wants us to just have some plain old fun sometimes. What could be wrong with "laughing"??? Come on people the enemy is not the tv...it is if it becomes your god! But, that is each persons choice, not something we need to bash each other for, ya' think?

Which sometimes the tv may be on...but I am THINKING ON HIM and reading the word, and the tv sound is just background noise...raised in a house like that, so it's just natural for me...and NOT wrong! He forgives me, and all of you too!

And, I am NOT AFRAID TO WATCH ANYTHING...NOT EVEN HORROR MOVIES...As we "do not have a spirit of fear in Christ"...remember? HE is watching out for us all...so LOVE, LIVE AND "LAUGH"...once in a while, amen! your sis, hannah who doesn't "worship" tv, but does watch at night, sorry to those who do not agree, but this is me, and you are you....and we all just need to get along, amen!

Some good points there Hannah. I don't watch too much tv, but I won't use my liberty to bash others. My all time favorite show is Criminal Minds. I think it is all how it is handled. If it comes before God and such, yes...it is wrong. But the tv here is hardly on...but to each their own.

Years ago I visited a friend of mine, he and his friend insisted that I stay up late and watch a couple of horror flicks by myself and see if I got scared. I complied though I don't usually enjoy them. when I went to bed, (on the couch),I turned off tv, and when I woke up to the tv on and no one else up to turn it on.

I was confused but didn't even think to be scared, I guess I figure there are a lot more scary things in life that that.

Anyway, the power had gone off and the tv was set so that when the power came back on, it would restart the tv, so it was nothing to worry about, but my friends were spooked, I don't know if they were more spooked by the tv or by me not getting scared.

I now....I just really wanted prayer to do the right thing no matter what it is. I guess a lot of my problem is that when my mother died, and this sounds weird I know, I have been hearing a lot of things in my spirit that she use to approve or disapprove of. Like....what to watch what not to or what to say how to say it...I get confused sometimes. Just being honest.

I guess since I have began to have to be cooped up in this house I have gotten in some bad habits. I tend to find myself building my day around what is on tv or what to eat or even the computer.

Yep, I hear ya. I have the same thing..my mom is still alive, but I can still hear her in my head sometimes too! BUT, I am not under her control any more as an adult, so I have to sort out what is good or not for me. I know what you mean.

What is really scary...are all the demons running around...trying to take us down.

But then again...our Lord is watching our fronts and our rear flanks too....so I stopped being scared when I found out that fact!

Didn't Roosevelt say...We have nothing to fear but fear itself? Through the years of demonic attacks and being in the new age movement...I was soooo glad to know...My Jesus...was always there protecting me, amen!

Probably but sometimes...maybe we are just here to talk for a moment too! God knows us...and where we are headed..and now...tadah...back to the subject at hand..which "What was it now?"!!!

Oh yeh, giving a prophetic word if we have one.

I read today on a couple of sites that there have been numerous earthquakes in the middle east region...that is of prophetic in nature to the word. Does that count?
