Just been thinking on God answering prayer! I have seen SO many answered. He is amazing. I praise His name. He is faithful, even when I don't think He is, or He is distant. I praise Him, cause in His time and HIS way, He does answer them. He heard my deepest yearnings, and today, He answered. Amen!

I belive it is good friday because this is the day that the sacrifice was made to save our souls . Easter sunday was just the confirmation that our sacrifice was acceptable.

The thing is Jesus was actually crucified on Wednesday. But that is o.k. He wasn't born on Christmas day either....

i belive if you look at the scripture you will find the hurry to get him off the cross before dark is pretty clear indication that they were trying to get him down before the sabbath which was still Saturday as i understand it. I agree however about Christmas day though I think it may have been fall at the feast of tabernacles.

If you want to discuss this further we could start another thread i don't want to derail this one though I find it interesting.

Extra sabbath on passover week is the answer to that... There are always two Sabbaths on passover week. The hurry was for the passover week sabbath and not the weekly sabbath. He was in the tomb three days....Friday afternoon until Saturday evening is only one day. I don't mind doing a thread on it.

I don't say these things lightly. I have researched scripture and history on the matter and speak out of that. The bottom line of the issue is that Easter and good Friday are Catholic traditions , not holidays prescribed by scripture.The concept of Jesus crucified and resurrected is sound but the traditions surrounding Easter are simply that , traditions.

I am in agreement about not derailing the thread. But I do think it relates to the prophetic thread to correct error when people choose to bring it up on the thread.

But I will say remember there has never been a time where God didn't love you or forgot about you. Here is there no matter how many times we fall, he is there to help us and pick us up again.
