  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This reminded me of something I heard a few weeks ago about people sitting back waiting for God to tell them to do things.
Using this as a reason not to act.

We know we should be working to grow the kingdom and not sit back and wait for Him to push us.

Not saying anyone is doing this, just came into my mind.

Reminds me I need to put my application in to do volunteer work at hospital.
That is along the theme we heard at church yesterday. That we are ALL given an assignment (for lack of a better word) and we are to do it and walk in the ministry the Lord has given us. It is time to do it cause God assigned us to it, and NO one else can do what we were given to do.

Not necessarily a prophetic word, but for sure an encouraging word...

In Everything Give Thanks

1 THESSALONIANS 5:18 NKJ
18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in
Christ Jesus for you.

Are you giving thanks to God today? You should. If you want to
be happy, you must. For, without being thankful, you will never
be happy.

Just because things are not going the way you would like is no
excuse. The Bible clearly says that God's will for you is to be
thankful -- always.

The Bible does NOT teach that we're to thank God for evil,
because God is not responsible for evil. No, God is not guilty
of any wrongdoing.

What the Bible does teach, is that we should always be thankful
-- even when evil happens. Being thankful is part of an
attitude of faith, and faith will overcome evil.

Although the Bible does say we should give thanks to God FOR
all things, that only means the things for which God is
responsible. For example, if a guest at your home said, "Thank
you for everything," you wouldn't think they were thanking you
for what someone else did.

God doesn't do bad things to people. He's not the one who comes
to steal, kill, and destroy. That's the devil, and people
motivated by selfishness and demonic influence. So you have the
devil "to thank" for the bad things in life.

Yet, during the bad things in life, we are to continue thanking
God, no matter how we feel. This helps us keep our eyes on God
and keep things in perspective.

No matter how dark and hopeless the situation may look -- give
thanks. This is God's will for you.

Thank God for the opportunity to see His deliverance. Thank Him
for His mercy and grace. Thank Him for His faithfulness. Thank
Him for defeating the devil and setting you free in Christ.
Thank Him that Jesus is Lord. Thank Him that your name is
written in Heaven. Thank Him for loving you and taking good
care of you. Thank Him!
I didnt see this earlier, but that's a good point!

there is nothing wrong with asking for a word from the Lord. He is faithful. He wishes to remind you of His faithfulness. He would have you plant yourself next to His Holy Water (like a tree) and let the roots grow deep deep deep to where NOTHING can move that tree from its feeding ground. Storms will blow and lightning will strike and yet YOU will stand firm as that tree, planted by the rivers of the Holy One and success is yours in the Lord.
Thank you!

Need help

Back in 98 my sister was walking around drunk and my mother called me and i went and found her down the street at a former childhood freinds and began speaking life into both of them, they started their journey in the Lord together, and pastored them along the way, i also brought them in to the insurance business and taught them everything i know and they have become fairly successful, but now, as i continue to help and train them they do not want to be under me in the business, and it has turned in to a major fight, they think, because i am family, i should not make money on them, and they should have the same commission as me

Am i wrong for wanting to make a little money from what they sell, after training them all these years?

Not wrong for wanting it. But if they are not feeling the same way it is unwise to force it.
