  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This is not meant to be prophetic (hence my ordinary font and not the darker one)

One of the factors in the breakdown of my first marriage was that I put the "on fire" church I was going to before the needs of my wife. In hindsight, I had a misplaced loyalty. My marriage might have been saved if I had been more loyal to her, and had stood up more strongly against those in the church who were putting her down because she did not hold so strongly to their beliefs. I decided that I would never do that again.

I have been married to my second wife for 18 years now. I put Jesus Christ first as Lord of my life, and she accepts that. I put her and my daughter next, and then the church I go to after that. Catherine, my second wife, is reluctant to be involved in the spiritual side of my Presbyterian church, because her background involves another denomination. But she is happy to be involved in the social side of it. She has never stopped me from serving the Lord in any way that I wish. I think she must stand back and think that I am too zealous about things at times, but she is happy to be part of it, as long as no one makes any demands on her. If anyone in the church ever criticised her, I would stand up to them and tell them to pull their heads in and back off.

The reason I am telling you this, is that God must come first in your life. Then He has provided you with a wife who is your partner and companion in this life. You must honour and respect her, and always make her feel loved and cared for. This is your responsibility in the Lord. If you cannot meet the temporal and spiritual needs of your wife and family in your own home, then you will be useless for the Lord anywhere else. The testing ground for ministry is how effectively you are able to minister to your own family.

This is the challenge the Lord has given to me. I am praying for a healing ministry, and the Spirit has told me that when I am courageous enough to pray for my own family and see them healed by the grace and power of God, then I will see it happen elsewhere.

There is always another church down the road; but a good wife is a precious treasure - a gift from God. You can't readily dump her and pick up some floozie down the road. But you can always leave your church and find another one just as good down the road. Churches come two a penny - unless you have been going to one where you really feel it is a spiritual home and family to you. But you need to be aware that your wife needs to feel the same way about that church as well, to make your church life and family life work in harmony.

So you can guess what my advice is - look after your wife; it will bring great dividends to you in the Lord. He will bless you for it.

Thank you Oscarr, just what I needed to hear:amen: God bless you richly!

My husband and I were once at two different sides of the Charismatic divide
but I worshiped the Lord in Baptist churches where he felt comfortable and had an active role as a Preacher and Teacher and I would occasionally visit other churches including our current church where there was freedom in the Spirit.

Five years ago we left the Baptist church and moved into a break away church plant which initially my husband was Pastoring for a year until someone else as previously arranged was free to take over as Pastor and my husband found himself pastoring a bunch of Charismatics. He was baptized in the Spirit and started coming along with me on Saturday and Sunday nights when we had no meetings to our current church.

We moved on into our current church a few months after their present Pastor took over and we are both very happy to be in a church that is on fire and we are Evangelizing in the streets, and birthing our own Ministry.

I could very well have walked off and gone my own way church wise years ago because I felt restricted in those days, I had been introduced to the Charismatic Movement in the Seventies, yet for over 20 years of married life I fellowshipped where my husband was comfortable and I learned over the years to call that which was not as though it were and believe that my husband would have a mighty encounter with the Holy Spirit. Well the Lord moved him on, we had met at an Inter- Denominational Bible College back in 1978 but for years he was of a conservative mind set. God wants us to be faithful and pray. He changes things.

Amen, Thanks Irene, God Bless!!

THE SEASON

Everything has it’s time and it’s season,
And this is a season of new beginnings,
Be assured this all has a purpose and reason,
For a new day is being heralded in.

For many years Father God has been wooing us,
Drawing the church closer and closer to Jesus,
But this is now our commissioning time,
He says “I want you to let others know you are mine.”

We are called to be witnesses to this generation,
Taking the message to people of every tribe and nation,
That Jesus wants to save, heal and deliver,
He wants them to know Him as Lord and Saviour.

So it’s time for us to go outside of the church walls,
We will say yes to Jesus answering the call,
Taking the wonderful good news of salvation,
Out to the people of this day and generation.

And the Holy Spirit will come upon us in this hour,
We will walk in boldness, authority and power,
For each one of us have been called with a purpose you see,
That the light of the glorious gospel should shine forth from you and me.

I have a problem at work. I have just taken a new job. My new boss acquired my old employers book of business and took me with him, transfering me to a different town. I love my new boss. He is God fearing, honest, but he is very demanding (as bosses should be).

My new boss has given me broad discretion in acquring new business when it comes to one particular area. However, in all other areas, he has instructed me clear things with him before I accept new clients.

Yesterday a woman came into my office with serious, time-sensitive problem. I am unable to go into any details, but suffice it to say, I have been worried that I overstepped my authority when I decided to help her. (My boss was unavailable for me to contact.)

If anybody has a word, please share it with me. I am tired of being worried. I need deliverance here. Thank you.

Does the Lord have a word for me?

The Lord is the watchman over your soul. He stands in the high tower and watches vigilantly for the approach of any enemy who might harm or distress you. He knows exactly how close He will allow the enemy to get near you. He is your strength and shield, and He is a very present help in time of trouble. Even though in your time of trouble you think the Lord is far away from you, actually this is the time when He is closest to you. The enemy is limited and chained the will of God for you. God's plans for you are to give you a strong hope for your future. You need not be afraid of the future, even though it is made up of the choices you make now. Your future is in the hands of the Lord because even though you are free in Him to make your own plans to achieve your goals and dreams, he guides your steps, and His outcomes for you are more wonderful, precious, and greater than anything you could ask or imagine. Your goals for yourself, even the most wonderful you can think of, is lower than the goals the Lord has for you; and there is no enemy what can take that away from you. Put your whole trust in Him, and you will never be disappointed. Disappointments may exist in your past, but they will never exist in your future.

I don't ask normally, but am curious if there is a word for me????

Give due praise to the Lord because He is good, and the work He is doing in you is good. Although you cannot see the work going on in you, you can be sure that there is a work of the Holy Spirit happening in your heart and spirit. You are God's workmanship in Christ. He knew you while you were in your mother's womb. He fashioned and made you and gave you the personality that you have. The greatest person you can ever be is just to be yourself, without trying to be more spiritual than you are, or trying to present yourself as better than you naturally are. Do not be guided by the world's way, which is to induce people to give much attention to their outward appearance and too little attention to the state of their heart or the health of their soul. The Lord accepts you as you are, not as others think you should be. Free yourself from the fear of man. If the Lord does not like or accept anything that you do, or are, He will change it. You are being changed by degrees every day, and will one day be transformed into the likeness of Christ. You are being changed from one level of glory to another. The Lord would challenge you to believe and trust more in the work that He is doing in you to make you the person He wants you to be, than in what you see in the mirror. For a person whose heart is sincere and fully trusting in the Lord, there is no door that he will not enter into in the will of God. Seek the Lord while He may be found, and if you seek Him with all your heart through prayer and the study of His Word, you will surely be found of Him. He will seek you out and reveal Himself to you. Then you will surely know what it really means to be blessed in the Lord.

If anybody has a word, please share it with me. I am tired of being worried. I need deliverance here. Thank you.

I regret that I don't feel confident about giving you a prophetic word because you have given much information about your circumstances, and I would worry that any word would come from my natural mind rather than from the Spirit.

But I can give you my views, and if they turn out to be the word of God for you, then great.

With your boss being absent, you are in the position where you have to make a judgement call. You had the choice about whether to help the person, or to send them away to come back later when the boss is present to assist your choice.

Because you decided to assist the person, you are showing that you are proactive and courageous enough to make a decision and take responsibility for it. Your boss may very well view that favourably.

If I was in your position, I would write a comprehensive report of the session and include everything you told the woman, everything she told you, and the counselling you gave her. Include your reasons for going ahead and dealing with her even though your boss was absent.

I assume that you have made an appointment for this person to return for more assistance. When that happens, ask your boss to sit in on the interview and to add anything that he feels is appropriate. Then your boss can give you guidance and be able to recommend whether you should continue having this person as your client, or whether another agency or counsellor could assist her better.

It is best to approach your boss and report what you have done, rather for him to find out another way. Put yourself in the hands of your manager early, and it may make the difference between the encounter being a blessing and a learning experience with his support, or being a curse that puts a blot on your performance. Anyone can make an error of judgement, if that is what it was, and it takes real courage and respect for your boss to go to him and let him know what you did and what happened as a result.

I hope this helps.

Psa 50:1 THE MIGHTY One, God, the Lord, speaks and calls the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.
Psa 50:2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth.
Psa 50:3 Our God comes and does not keep silence; a fire devours before Him, and round about Him a mighty tempest rages.
Psa 50:4 He calls to the heavens above and to the earth, that He may judge His people:
Psa 50:5 Gather together to Me My saints [those who have found grace in My sight], those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.
Psa 50:6 And the heavens declare His righteousness (rightness and justice), for God, He is judge. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!
Psa 50:7 Hear, O My people, and I will speak; O Israel, I will testify to you and against you: I am God, your God.
Psa 50:8 I do not reprove you for your sacrifices; your burnt offerings are continually before Me.
Psa 50:9 I will accept no bull from your house nor he-goat out of your folds.
Psa 50:10 For every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills or upon the mountains where thousands are.
Psa 50:11 I know and am acquainted with all the birds of the mountains, and the wild animals of the field are Mine and are with Me, in My mind.
Psa 50:12 If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world and its fullness are Mine.
Psa 50:13 Shall I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?
Psa 50:14 Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and pay your vows to the Most High,
Psa 50:15 And call on Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall honor and glorify Me.
Psa 50:16 But to the wicked, God says: What right have you to recite My statutes or take My covenant or pledge on your lips,
Psa 50:17 Seeing that you hate instruction and correction and cast My words behind you [discarding them]?
Psa 50:18 When you see a thief, you associate with him, and you have taken part with adulterers.
Psa 50:19 You give your mouth to evil, and your tongue frames deceit.
Psa 50:20 You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother's son.
Psa 50:21 These things you have done and I kept silent; you thought I was once entirely like you. But [now] I will reprove you and put [the charge] in order before your eyes.
Psa 50:22 Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.
Psa 50:23 He who brings an offering of praise and thanksgiving honors and glorifies Me; and he who orders his way aright [who prepares the way that I may show him], to him I will demonstrate the salvation of God.

Our Daddy owns the cattle of a thousand hills and he cares for us so we should not doubt that He desires to bless us. Give praise and thanks to our God.

I MUST BE HOLY FOR HE IS HOLY

I want to tell you a marvellous story,
Of how the King of glory,
Came and pointed out my sin,
That I might be cleansed deep within.

He said “My child I want you to be holy,
Rid yourself of sin and pride and be holy, for I am holy,”
I fell down upon my face for I was far from pure,
Who was I to stand in the presence of one so pure?

And I cried unto the Lord “I want to be more like you,
It amazes me that you can love one such as me,
How the sinless spotless son of God can love me like you do,
Yet your blood paid the price for my sin setting me free.”

So often Lord I have cried out saying “ I want to see your face,
And I dearly love your sweet , sweet embrace,”
Then you ask me, yes one such as me to come closer,
You say to me “Come my child I will reveal to you so much more.”

“So Lord I ask you to come and purify my whole heart,
I fall so far short of what you would have me to be,
Please dear Lord cleanse me and let me have a fresh new start,
That from this moment on, people looking at me, it will be you they see.”

I have realised now that I can no longer do anything in my own strength,
And I’m crying out “Dear Lord take the me, and the I out the storm,
For it can no longer be me that takes control of my life, I need your strength,
I need you to come and the deep recesses of my heart and mind transform..”
