  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You have a heart for ministry, and the Lord is leading you that way so you can be effective for Him in the things that you are doing for Him. But there are those who will tell you that you are too young, and do not have enough experience in the things of God to be able to see the power of the Holy Spirit operating through your ministry. Know this, that the Lord has already blessed you with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. He is not hindered by your young age, but will move through you to the extent of your faith in Him.

Doesn't the Scripture say that if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will be able to move mountains? This is the way the Lord is encouraging you to look away from yourself and look to Him as the source of power and ability to reach others for Christ.

Look at those who are saying you don't have enough experience, or are limiting you because of your age. What is limiting them to do the works of Jesus, even greater works? Is it not their own lack of faith that keeps them bound up in their formalism and fear of stepping out for God? And yet they would try to make you as unbelieving as themselves, while dressing up their words as "wise counsel"

Seek the counsel of the Lord through His Word, and you will hear the voice of God directing you to do His will for you. He will back His will with the abilities that you need. This is something that no man can teach you, but it is the anointing that you have within you that will give you the wisdom and direction to launch out and do what would be impossible if you trusted in your own strength and ability.

Thanks for this word oscarr!
Sorry I'm a little late in replying I was kinda busy here at the House of Prayer! But I just spoke last night about this to one of my ministry friend and she was telling me the same thing! Thanks Oscarr for being used and giving me this word! It means a lot to me at this season in my life! Bless you brother!

Give thanks to the Lord
Our God and King
His love endures forever
For He is good, He is above all things
His love endures forever
Sing praise, sing praise
With a mighty hand
and outstretched arm
His love endures forever
For the life that's been reborn
His love endures forever
Sing praise, sing praise
Sing praise, sing praise
Yeah
Forever God is faithful
Forever God is strong
Forever God is with us
Forever and ever
Forever

I'm leading a bible study this friday night, i've decided to do it on praising God for his faithfulness and love that endures forever. I'm going to start off by singing Forever by Chris Tomlin. I am very nervous, would appreciate it if anyone could pray for me.
I hope these lyrics encourage you all too. :)

That is so awesome! Forever is such an AWESOME song, I just love it! :D Ahhh, don't be nervous. The Lord's with ya. I'll be prayin' that is will be an awesome time and very successful. :D

God Bless,
Josh

Ok I need some advice on something, if you don't mind.

I'm not sure if I should do this..my parents want me to though. At the Methodist church they're making me go to they are starting a brand new thing. It's a Student Led Bible Study and small groups. It seemed interesting but not sure if I should do it or not. Any suggestions or comments??? Thanks!

God Bless,
Josh

I'm doin' great! How about you?

Amen Thanks the last night of the conference was wonderful as well. I have to say the preacher was preaching she did a wonderful job, her name is pastor peobles, very powerful preacher. A word that I felt was for me and helped to confirm something I was thinking about. First time I have ever met her. Really has the annionting of God on her life.

I am doing well, actually wonderful but tired. Been going to church everynight since Wednesday Night(the same day I started shchool until sunday night, two services on sunday) even though I am tired in body I am great spiritually better then I have been in months if not a year. The conference was my old church, which is now my new church because I am going back there. I am going back/back at my home church it feels wonderful and I think it's want I truly needed to bridge that gap and just over the past week days it has been wonderful I have enjoyed it and I thank God I was able to go every night. I can't wait until Sunday comes.

Josh I believe this song is particularly for you right now, although it's for everyone. Where the Spirit of the Lord is http://http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=7KR5Mg2K4xA&feature=related

I LOVE that song!!!!

The only thing I can think of how that is for me, right now that is haha, is that the Lord has just been leading me more and more into the Inner Courts and He's been pouring out His glory and Spirit on me like never before these past, I believe 5 days (could be wrong on the days. lol). So that means that I've found the Freedom in the Spirit.(If I'm not making any sense it's because I'm writing an essay on Hamlet...so sorry. lol.)

Thanks so much for posting that!:D

My personal opinion would be to try it, if you never try it you'll never know if you like it or not. I think it could actually be really good for you, I think you should try it a few times, you can't really lose out on it but only gain from the experience. I really hope that you try it, so then you'll know if it's for you or not. Plus it will be something to keep you going throughout the week and all.

Yeah I was praying that the lord would help me make it through the day today because I was soooooo tired. Yeah I started wednesday oh okay I know some people that started about a week to two weeks ago (some of my friends did0 but I also have a few that don't start school until tomorrow.

Could you all pray and see what God shows you for me

I was going to an on fire, deliverance, prophetic ministry but my wife can't handle it because it is to long and radical

We have been having bible studies in our home of which my sons and their freinds come to and my wife is part of it also, but with very little growth

Should I stick with the home bible study or go back to the on fire church, which nobody wants to have anything to do with

Please let me know what God shows you

Thanks

This is not meant to be prophetic (hence my ordinary font and not the darker one)

One of the factors in the breakdown of my first marriage was that I put the "on fire" church I was going to before the needs of my wife. In hindsight, I had a misplaced loyalty. My marriage might have been saved if I had been more loyal to her, and had stood up more strongly against those in the church who were putting her down because she did not hold so strongly to their beliefs. I decided that I would never do that again.

I have been married to my second wife for 18 years now. I put Jesus Christ first as Lord of my life, and she accepts that. I put her and my daughter next, and then the church I go to after that. Catherine, my second wife, is reluctant to be involved in the spiritual side of my Presbyterian church, because her background involves another denomination. But she is happy to be involved in the social side of it. She has never stopped me from serving the Lord in any way that I wish. I think she must stand back and think that I am too zealous about things at times, but she is happy to be part of it, as long as no one makes any demands on her. If anyone in the church ever criticised her, I would stand up to them and tell them to pull their heads in and back off.

The reason I am telling you this, is that God must come first in your life. Then He has provided you with a wife who is your partner and companion in this life. You must honour and respect her, and always make her feel loved and cared for. This is your responsibility in the Lord. If you cannot meet the temporal and spiritual needs of your wife and family in your own home, then you will be useless for the Lord anywhere else. The testing ground for ministry is how effectively you are able to minister to your own family.

This is the challenge the Lord has given to me. I am praying for a healing ministry, and the Spirit has told me that when I am courageous enough to pray for my own family and see them healed by the grace and power of God, then I will see it happen elsewhere.

There is always another church down the road; but a good wife is a precious treasure - a gift from God. You can't readily dump her and pick up some floozie down the road. But you can always leave your church and find another one just as good down the road. Churches come two a penny - unless you have been going to one where you really feel it is a spiritual home and family to you. But you need to be aware that your wife needs to feel the same way about that church as well, to make your church life and family life work in harmony.

So you can guess what my advice is - look after your wife; it will bring great dividends to you in the Lord. He will bless you for it.

If someone has a word for me I would really appreciate it.

The Lord resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble person. A humble person is not someone who goes around "looking" humble. A truly humble person is one who knows their own shortcomings and weaknesses and puts their whole trust in the Lord Jesus Christ to be their mediator between them and God. A truly humble person is joyful and positive when it comes to comforting and encouraging others. He or she has a teachable spirit, and does not harden his or her neck when exposed to correction from those who are spiritual mentors. The grace of God is sufficient for you. He sees that you have a good heart, and therefore can be mightily used of Him in spite of your view of your shortcomings and previous failures. Do not allow your weaknesses to rule you, or you previous failures to dominate your thinking when planning your future in God. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not to your own understanding in terms of what you are in the natural, and He will direct your paths to fruitfulness and blessing.

My husband and I were once at two different sides of the Charismatic divide
but I worshiped the Lord in Baptist churches where he felt comfortable and had an active role as a Preacher and Teacher and I would occasionally visit other churches including our current church where there was freedom in the Spirit.

Five years ago we left the Baptist church and moved into a break away church plant which initially my husband was Pastoring for a year until someone else as previously arranged was free to take over as Pastor and my husband found himself pastoring a bunch of Charismatics. He was baptized in the Spirit and started coming along with me on Saturday and Sunday nights when we had no meetings to our current church.

We moved on into our current church a few months after their present Pastor took over and we are both very happy to be in a church that is on fire and we are Evangelizing in the streets, and birthing our own Ministry.

I could very well have walked off and gone my own way church wise years ago because I felt restricted in those days, I had been introduced to the Charismatic Movement in the Seventies, yet for over 20 years of married life I fellowshipped where my husband was comfortable and I learned over the years to call that which was not as though it were and believe that my husband would have a mighty encounter with the Holy Spirit. Well the Lord moved him on, we had met at an Inter- Denominational Bible College back in 1978 but for years he was of a conservative mind set. God wants us to be faithful and pray. He changes things.

THE SEASON

Everything has it’s time and it’s season,
And this is a season of new beginnings,
Be assured this all has a purpose and reason,
For a new day is being heralded in.

For many years Father God has been wooing us,
Drawing the church closer and closer to Jesus,
But this is now our commissioning time,
He says “I want you to let others know you are mine.”

We are called to be witnesses to this generation,
Taking the message to people of every tribe and nation,
That Jesus wants to save, heal and deliver,
He wants them to know Him as Lord and Saviour.

So it’s time for us to go outside of the church walls,
We will say yes to Jesus answering the call,
Taking the wonderful good news of salvation,
Out to the people of this day and generation.

And the Holy Spirit will come upon us in this hour,
We will walk in boldness, authority and power,
For each one of us have been called with a purpose you see,
That the light of the glorious gospel should shine forth from you and me.
