See, I have come to believe that just because bad things happen to a person, it DOES NOT mean God is against them. Many people feel that way and I used to, as well. ButI've seen too many illustrations to the contrary to believe that.

People just can and do go through hard times. I don't know why God just sort sits there and watches, but it's not the first time. I've been there, too, HD.

Yeah, I agree, God never turns his back on us, even though it may appear that way.

Job 7:20 "If I have sinned, what have I done to you, O watcher of men? Why have you made me your target? Have I become a burden to you?"
He struggled with similar doubts that you do HowardDean.

Job 42:12 "The LORD blessed the latter part of Job's life more than the first."
His story has a happy ending though. When i'm struggling I find it so encouraging to read Job.

Well, you have a choice, Rose.
Cut back on things. If you have internet, let it go. Go to the library. I've done that. Do what you have to do in order to put food on the table. God's hands are tied if you don't give Him something to work with. I love ya, sister, and I'll be praying that God opens your eyes. Sometimes it's hard to listen to the truth, but I believe God has been speaking the truth to you in love, and has given you the answers you need in my posts and others here. Don't look to man to meet your needs, Rose. Look to God.

I agree with Jere, I just got out of a bad period, I knew something was wrong just couldn't work it out.
Then my mother in law lent me a book which had the answer in it, I am sure it was God that planned it this way.
It was a minor thing I had been taught wrong that needed correction.

I wasn't being obedient, even though I didn't realize.

God was correcting me.

Are you a member of a church? Most churches have meals they can provide to people in-need.
Could you perhaps try contacting your pastor or something?

There's a path for each of us to walk, a path that has been ordained from the beginning of your life, and no amount of rebuking, prayer, and interceding will change that path, if that is what God has called you to walk. In order for you to accomplish the plans He has for you, and fulfillthe call He has on your life.
God does not bring disaster in the lives of His children. He allows it. It's up to us how we react to it.

Exactly, I want to serve Him and be closer to Him.

I'm reminded of the scripture in Psalms..."search me o Lord and see if there is any wicked way way in me" ..."purge me with hyssop and I will be whiter than snow"..
Psalm 25:4 says "Teach me Your ways O Lord, show me Your paths"..
Many are called, few are chosen, brother. I want to be among the chosen few. I'd say you will be as well.
If we keep our eyes upon Him, and not upon His hand and what He can do for us, rather what can we do for Him, then He will take care of us. God's not a sugar daddy. Oh, yeah, He'll be there in the beginning like that. But, then the pruning begins. At first it's like a little pair of scissors clipping here and there, then the pruning shears come out, and we begin to say "ouch!" what was that??? , then he brings out the hedge trimmers. lol, then we really say Ouch! But I would not have it any other way. Who wants dead branches hanging on them? ugh!
Right before I went through all that of losing my home, I had a vision from the Lord. It was a bunch of trees all around me, and I saw a whirlwind coming and ripping them up by the roots. I did not understand until later what they were.
Also, I had another vision during that time in my "exile". I saw an easel, and on it written in red was Isaiah 42:1-9, and it led me to the 4 servant songs. That was a blessing. God has actually been prompting me to read those again.

Is it what God is telling you to do? If so, then be obedient and do what He wants. if it's what the flesh wants vs spirit, then don't do it.
That's great you don't have that added expense of intenet. It adds up, believe me I know!
Someone mentioned going to the food bank at your church. Talking to your Pastor. If you don't get assistance from the state, try it.
Are you working? Can you work?
There are things you can do,Rose. I know there is. There's always something we can do. God meets us right where we are.

What about my suggestion, can you contact your church or just any local church?? I know it's a short term option, but it's better than nothing.

Hi, HD ... I have to tell you, you've received some most excellent words here in the last pages ... I have had a lot in my life to cry about and the one consistent lesson from it is it isn't about us ... or what we want ... I know exactly how hard it is to have faith and believe when things are rough ... I've been homeless more than once and I could make you a list a mile long of the heartache and losses in my life ... it's what it is ... I wanted to remind you of one of the lessons of Job ... God isn't doing anything to you ... satan is ... and the only thing that will fix things and help you overcome them is faith and trust in the Lord ... and it will never be easy ... it wasn't meant to be ... if it was everyone would make it ... He will replace everything we lose and will not let us fall but trust is the key ... I wish I had more to offer but I don't ... just wanted to say something because I can feel your heart ... it's just a thought but perhaps if you went back through the pages of this thread and the previous ones you might see a pattern that could lead you to some answers ... I love you much and care ... God bless!

One final word of advice I would offer to you.
Do not forsake the assembling of yourselves...This is from the Lord's words, not mine. There's a reason for this, actually many. When one lamb is separated from the flock, the wolves can attack. As is mentioned already, the devil comes to steal, kill, and to destroy. He is like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Yes, the word says to resist him, and he will flee, but we must do what He says to do as well.
Find a church, get involved, get rooted and grounded there, surround yourself with Godly mentors, friends, and a loving family.
We were not meant to do this alone, Rose.

I agree wholeheartedly. We are one body and need to be together and stick together.. esp this day and age. If one lost sheep is lost they may not return.
"Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish." Like the above poster mention. Get into a church and be rooted.

Bellasong - I don't know why but I feel I need to tell you to search out the song of your heart. It has been muffled and it needs to be played boldly and loudly. I hope this helps......... I will continue to pray for you.
