Good question.I have no idea. Who?
Good idea. What's important is we shouldn't make things up to support our personal beliefs.
And since we both "made it up," I guess great minds think alike, eh?Adam Clarke's Commentary said:This is one of the most remarkable and most singular prophecies in the Old Testament. It here most circumstantially foretells a fact which took place three hundred and forty years after the prediction; a fact which was attested by the two nations. The Jews, in whose behalf this prophecy was delivered, would guard it most sacredly; and it was the interest of the Israelites, against whom it was levelled, to impugn its authenticity and expose its falsehood, had this been possible. This prediction not only showed the knowledge of God, but his power. He gave, as it were, this warning to idolatry, that it might be on its guard, and defend itself against this Josiah whenever a person of that name should be found sitting on the throne of David; and no doubt it was on the alert, and took all prudent measures for its own defence; but all in vain, for Josiah, in the eighteenth year of his reign, literally accomplished this prophecy, as we may read, 2Ki 23:15-20.
How do you know the bible's right?Good idea.
1 Kings 13:2 And he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men's bones shall be burnt upon thee. And since we both "made it up," I guess great minds think alike, eh?![]()
I just know you're wrong. How do you know the bible's right?
How do you know the bible's right?
Because the bible says so.

You don't. Until you study it.
Have you studied the Bible yet?
A Book in the Bible may take a semester to introduce it.
So as a geologist you found that the earth must be only a few thousand years old, and then coincidentally found that the Bible agrees, and continued to read its other stories which were equally in line with reality?
FIRST, you tell me clearly and loudly that I am off your ignoring list.
Then we can talk.
I never had you on such a list. Just said that you are a confirmed troll.
Do you like to talk to a confirmed troll?
If you like to, then cancel that confirmation OPENLY.
This seems to be getting a bit off topicI think some good points have been made though.
We ha r an example of a prophecy that is not particularly difficult to fulfil and as people have pointed out no way to confirm that it was fulfilled. It seems we are a bit stuck. One side saying Prophesies show that the Bible is true and in this case we know of the prophecy came true because the Bible said it did.
Thw other side saying that this kind of circular argument is not convincing for them.
Did anyone have any other prophesies that they wanted to bring forward as options to support the arguments being made here by either side?
