Amazing information which was right there in the histories all the time, and has been proven.
The Dome of the Rock was not the Temple site, and the Wailing Wall is the remains of the Roman Fort Antonia, as described by Josephus, where 6,000 Roman soldiers were quartered!

The facts are that the temple Was built on a threshing floor, and not on a rock.

The Romans, after the second Jewish revolt of A.D. 132, built a Temple dedicated to Jupiter on the exact location of the former ruins of the second Temple. They did it for the reason of forever making it impossible for the Jews to build a temple in that location. It is on the foundation stone of that Temple dedicated to Jupiter that the current Dome of the Rock was built. The Dome of the Rock currently sits squarely on the location of the former holy place of the Jewish Temple. It is the original location of the Temple of Jerusalem and can be shown to be such.

All of this speculation about different Temple locations is a modern mythology brought about by radical and crazed futurist Zionism and Dispensationalism. It is the height of projecting modern desires onto the pages of history.

Dan 11:45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.

Isa 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

Interesting verse:

Hab 3:3 God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.

if the temple wasnt on the temple mount, where was it?

The Temple was opposite the Mount of Olives.

Mar 13:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,

Mar 13:3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John and Andrew asked him privately,

Exactly right. The late Dr. E. Martin published his book titled The Temples that Jerusalem Forgot back in 1997 now 15 years ago. I read it and confirmed his more important findings and concluded that he is 100% right. He said he initially got the idea from the young Mazar.

God has frustrated the Jews attempts on four occasions - this being the forth. He is never going to allow them to return to the Old Covenant. The present "wailing wall" is an important political and religious tool in order to maintain the old Jewish belief system and solidarity - and this untruth will someday be well known. Of course the Jewish orthodoxy will reject it. But Israel's day is coming. I expect a great revival in that country - maybe in my lifetime.

I just saw an ad for another book by a second professor who is using Martin's temple drawing on the cover. So it looks like someone else has picked up the torch. The martin book was to have a second edition - but was stopped by the demise of Martin.

Martins site is askelm.com

This is clearly wrong. Though the Jews are for the most part blinded to Messiah...THEY OUGHT TO KNOW WHERE THE TEMPLE STOOD.

Any Jew will tell you the "temple proper" (the structure itself), which is the temple, stood right where the "Dome of the Rock" is.

Even more, when you understand that when the Muslims built it there, they did so with full knowledge that, that is where the temple stood...they did it with the express purpose of it being a RELIGIOUS SLAP IN THE FACE OF ISRAEL.

Do a little more homework yeshuasavedme. You're dead wrong on this!!!

The temple (Herod's temple), is a structure that stands all alone. The walls around it was the last protection of that temple.

Look at any accurate map of "Old Jerusalem" like this:

The website for this (with the legend) is here:

None of this is going to matter because the entire landscape/geography is going to change.

Zech 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:
7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the Lord, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.
8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
9 And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one.
10 All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses.

I only put a small bit of the information that is out there that proves that the Temple Mount is not the site of the Dome of the Rock.
The facts and truths of the matter are proven from historical records like Josephus, the Maccabees, and the books of the OT which mention things relevant to the exact location of the site of the Temple Solomon built and which was rebuilt after the return from the first diaspora and which was remodeled by Herod.

"Tradition is the enemy of Truth" in these things always.

The thing it settled for me was why were the stones of the wailing wall standing if Jesus' prophecy of "not one stone remaining on another" was supposed to be fulfilled.
For myself, I argued on this board that the temple must be rebuilt on that site if that prophecy is to be fulfilled totally, because believing -by tradition- that the "Wailing wall" -which is composed of ten thousand stones from the time of Herod- was part of the temple compound that Herod remodeled, and believing the prophecy must be totally and exactly fulfilled, and has not been since the ten thousand stones are standing "one upon another", then the temple must be rebuilt there, and the Dome on the Rock must come down.

Obviously, the Mosque on the site which was actually a Roman fortress and which was where Jesus was put on trial, does not have to come down, and the temple will be rebuilt, but on the original site, not on the site of the Roman "Fort Antonio".

As to the Jews knowing where their temple was: they did not.
Everything was totally destroyed and they were gone for a long time.
That is all explained in the links -and there was no consensus of agreement among the returning Jews; until slowly, over time, it became traditional to think it was on the site of the Mosque because one guy who made many other mistakes, said it was. He was wrong on all counts, and is proven today to be so -but "tradition is the enemy of truth".

It was not there and there are many proofs presented as to why it was not.

Boom. Exactly right. Martin nailed it. The Temple had to be over the Gihon spring for Temple rituals and sacrifices. Jesus said that it would be torn down and it was - which Josephus described to exacting detail. Sadly, the "wailing wall" is the remnant of the Roman fort Antonia.

Great info......So why do the Jews of today pray at the wailing wall?
It is interesting that President Trump visited it........

Trump makes history as first serving US president to visit Western Wall

After walking to Church of Holy Sepulchre, president dons black kippah to visit Jewish holy site, slipping a prayer note into its stones

Fifty years after Israel captured the Western Wall, US President Donald Trump on Monday became the first sitting American leader to visit the holy site, in a historic visit that saw him accompanied by his Jewish relatives in Jerusalem’s ancient Old City.

Entering the Old City’s warren of alleyways on Monday — on lockdown by police for his visit — Trump and his wife Melania met the heads of various Christian denominations and began their tour at one of the holiest sites in Christianity, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, believed by Christians to be the site of Jesus’ crucifixion, burial and resurrection.

Quotes from another thread..........
So, the Western wall is the wailing wall?

If so, the Jews have been nodding to just an 'ordinary' wall? The wall of the fort?

As for me, LittleLamb of Jesus, It is like all traditions that become as if they are the “WORD”. There are many myths that those not yet saved - or saved Jews, and saved Gentile Believers in Jesus have adopted. Anyone with a heart to know can do their own research in these days, for that is easy to do with all the libraries in the world, almost, accessible at a click of a mouse.
There will be temple built again in Jerusalem, but not on the current site that the dome of the rock sits, and that temple plan is described in the DSS, and has not yet been built, and will be. It is not like Solomon’s temple and it is not like the millennial temple that Ezekiel describes.
When the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled = are gathered in the first fruits harvest, then the nation of Israel will be dealt with and they will go through tribulation, and they will all return to Jesus their Messiah/God come in flesh.
How long after the rapture that will take I do not know, but I know the last seven years of it begins with the two witnesses, Moses and Elijah, preaching in the streets of Jerusalem for three and a half years, then killed, and so on...
