LOL, really, none of the learned commenters in this thread dare to venture a guess at the age of Donald Trump's father Fred Trump? How about the date of death then? I mean, it's relevant right ... since Donald supposedly inherited a fortune ... and Forbes would have you believe that Donald would have done better by simply investing in the stock market.

OK. Easier question then. How many siblings did Donald have, you know, to split daddy's wealth among?

P.S. The information is not at all hard to find. Hint: Try Wikipedia for Fred Trump. Just sayin ...

Well, I didn't guess, because I don't care and I never claimed Trump inherited his fortune and I believe it has zero to do with his ability to be president.

Hmm ... it seems that no one wants to post about the Donald's father except me. So, I shall.

Donald Trump's father died in 1999 ... long after Donald had made his fortune
Oh, I don't know about that. Here are some facts:

If Donald had invested is inheritance in the stock market, and had average returns, he would be just as wealthy today. So as a businessman, he is at best average.
The facts contradict that. Again, Trump's father didn't pass away until 1999, well after Donald had made his fortune.

Oh ... and of the several hundred million Donald's father accrued ... there were four siblings to divide it among.

Trump's a birther and I hate birthers.
What do you consider a "birther?" What would the opposite of that be? A believer?

Barack Obama traded on the fact that he was born in Kenya when it benefited him. Either he was lying when he said he was or he was lying when he said he wasn't. Either way, he lied. Only a fool believes a proven liar without irrefutable evidence.

Obama and his minions said that Hawaii did not use long form birth certificates. That was a lie. The pro-Obama governor of Hawaii said that the long form birth certificate didn't exist shortly before it magically appeared. Most of the Obama supporters I had been talking with after adamantly repeating the lie that Hawaii only offered the COLB immediately accepted the new birth certificate offered as proof positive that Obama was born in Hawaii. Their partisan clouded minds could never see the obvious contradiction.

Obama has spent millions of dollars hiding his past from anyone who might investigate it. We know less about him than any president in our history. Why? If he has nothing to hide, why is he hiding it?

It breaks down to this. There are two kinds of people; those who want to know the truth and those who do not. I have no respect for those who do not.

You're letting facts get in the way of the official liberal lie. Shame on you.

The actions and inactions of the head of the most powerful nation on the planet can have profound consequences.

I'm sorry but the fall of the Berlin Wall had nothing to do with Reagan, it was entirely down to David Hasslehoff: he sang a gosh darn SONG on that wall!

What did Reagan do: that's right: he asked politely, lol.

How the Dickin's does that compare with singing a song and doing a dance on the wall, itself?

Certainly more influential than simply imploring someone to destroy a wall they built from nothing in a cushy diplomacy suite in a 4 star hotel, lol.

It doesn't. We all know the song did the trick. Reagan might have been more successful singing his speech, but he really couldn't carry a tune.

Many historians believe, military spending is what eventually sunk the Soviet Union.

Now, Regan's tough talk and strategies, may have had something to do with the Soviet Union feeling they needed to spend more than they could afford on military spending.

I saw an article with the math, which I confirmed. I'll see if I can find it again. As well, it appears he got his inheritance well before his father died. Apparently he took over the family real estate business in 1974, along with a tidy nest egg at that time. You can google it if you want, there is quite a bit of info out there, some speculation, but some based on what Trump himself said.

EDIT: Here is one. The math holds I believe.

Could the guy who's dominating Republican polls (and people who lean Republican approve of by two-to-one) be dumber than a sack of bricks? I think so!

  • After Obama won the last election, he called it a "sham" and demanded a "march on Washington" to cancel it.
  • He said "The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing less competitive." Even if global warming isn't real, the idea that China somehow conned almost every climate scientist in the world into accepting it, without even one of them stepping forward and telling us about it, is just crazy.

  • He called America "the most highly taxed nation in the world," when people in Denmark (the happiest country in the world, followed by a bunch of other socialist countries) are taxed twice as much as Americans, because we have lower taxes than almost every other first world country. If he wants to be President, he should know something about America in comparison to other countries. Maybe he should've gotten some political experience before running for President!

  • On August 23rd, 2012 (and many other times), he blamed the increase of autism diagnoses (crucially, actual cases might not've increased!) on too many vaccines. He is utterly wrong, and delaying vaccines is a terrible idea. He seems to know the scientific consensus is completely against him, yet he still rejects it—despite not being a scientist—because he thinks all their studies are "fudged."

  • He said on July 9th of this year that he still doesn't know where Obama was born because "I don't know why he wouldn't release his records"—even though Obama released his long-form birth certificate in 2011! Trump™ must know that, since he gave himself credit for it at the time, after launching a very public "investigation" into Obama's birth. He even pubicly said he would donate $5 million to charity if Obama's birth certificate was ever released (which is strange since he doesn't accept it as evidence). Apparently his ”investigation“ never turned up the fact that multiple Hawaiin newspapers announced his birth in 1961. (Crucially, even if Obama was born in Kenya like Trump seems to think, he would still be a natural-born citizen because his mom was an American—something Trump should know by now.)
85% of Republicans say they would support Trump if he got the Republican nomination. I respect Republicans, and I know a lot of them don't know some of the information I just posted (like I didn't before a few days ago), but... really? What are they thinking—"anyone but a Democrat"? Would they vote for a dead cat over Hillary?

NOTE: I'm saying Trump is stupid about political issues. Maybe he's a genius about running casinos or something; that doesn't make him smart at everything else. Arthur Conan Doyle was a brilliant writer (or so I've heard), but he also thought fairies were real and Harry Houdini had magic powers. Plenty of people are smart at one thing and idiotic when it comes to another.

I'm a pretty conservative individual who thinks Trump is a moron. I have friends who honestly think he would be a great President. I'm thinking of getting rid of those friends.

They mix apples and oranges, actually, creating a cute shell game.

The truth ... which you can confirm in your article ... seems to be that Donald received $40 million from his father in the mid-70's and quickly grew that to 200 million by 1982. That's a five-fold increase and well above what could have been achieved with index funds during the dark years of the Jimmy Carter economy.

From that $200 million some have claimed that Trump could have done as well by using index funds to get to his current net worth. Doing that though discounts the 5x increase in wealth Donald had already achieved from the initial $40 million a few years earlier.
