Could the guy who's dominating Republican polls (and people who lean Republican approve of by two-to-one) be dumber than a sack of bricks? I think so!

  • After Obama won the last election, he called it a "sham" and demanded a "march on Washington" to cancel it.
  • He said "The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing less competitive." Even if global warming isn't real, the idea that China somehow conned almost every climate scientist in the world into accepting it, without even one of them stepping forward and telling us about it, is just crazy.

  • He called America "the most highly taxed nation in the world," when people in Denmark (incidentally, the happiest country in the world) are taxed twice as much as Americans, because we have lower taxes than almost every other first world country. If he wants to be President, he should know something about America in comparison to other countries. Maybe he should've gotten some political experience before running for President!

  • On August 23rd, 2012 (and many other times), he blamed the increase of autism diagnoses (crucially, actual cases might not've increased!) on too many vaccines. He is utterly wrong, and delaying vaccines is a terrible idea. He seems to know the scientific consensus is completely against him, yet he still rejects it—despite not being a scientist—because he thinks all their studies are "fudged."

  • He said on July 9th of this year that he still doesn't know where Obama was born because "I don't know why he wouldn't release his records"—even though Obama released his long-form birth certificate in 2011! Trump must know that, since he gave himself credit for it at the time, after launching a very public "investigation" into Obama's birth. He even pubicly said he would donate $5 million to charity if Obama's birth certificate was ever released (which is strange since he doesn't accept it as evidence). Apparently his “investigation” never turned up the fact that multiple Hawaiin newspapers announced his birth in 1961. (Crucially, even if Obama was born in Kenya like Trump seems to think, he would still be a natural-born citizen because his mom was an American—something Trump should know by now.)
NOTE: I'm saying Trump is stupid about political issues. Maybe he's a genius about running casinos or something; that doesn't make him smart at everything else. Arthur Conan Doyle was a brilliant writer (or so I've heard), but he also thought fairies were real and Harry Houdini had magic powers. Plenty of people are smart at one thing and idiotic when it comes to another.
William Lyon Mackenzie King was a Canadian prime minister who got reassurances from long dead politicians in seances. During WW2 no less.

Pobody's Nerfect!!!

OP... I always appreciate the amount of research you put into some of your posts. Kudos!

Saying idiotic things doesn't make someone and idiot. In spite of all of what you point out, he has proven to be no idiot. A tree is known by its fruit...not its rhetoric. :)
Financial success does not, in and of itself, prove someone is no idiot.

Lol the only issue listed on the "Positions" page of Trump's website is immigration. (Meanwhile, my guy, Bernie Sanders, lists and discusses like a million, just saying.)

Two thirds of Republicans say Trump is qualified to be President. I still don't have an answer to my question "What makes him more qualified than Flavor Flav?" He has no political experience; how can he be qualified? Because he's rich and irreverent? Flavor Flav is rich and irreverent! Also musically talented, and he wears a clock.

He's not an idiot, he just plays one on TV.

As for his lack of serious positions on major issues - I think he really, really doesn't care. He's having fun and bringing the issues that he does care about to the forefront.

I'd not look too closly at him being an idiot. One idiot alone in the woods is simply a future corps. A entire voting block of idiots is a scary proposition, but it seems we have them returning each 4 years to recertify for their idiots licences when they pull the lever that sends these people to Washington. Trump is note the issue. He's just a symptom of a problem and that problem is the soaly rests in our, the publics laps.

We are the ones who look for miracles and demand that our representatives do this and that while they are getting elected and then we forget about them when they are in office. Each four years we hold these people up for inspection and then we drool at those who promise the most and then we go back to playing our games, while Rome burns.

Would Donald Trump be so popular if we, the public weren't mezmerized by this new shiny bobble that has appeared on the horizon? would the media be chasing him around with a mic jamed in his face If people weren't listening to this Circus?

I think we are the issue here, since everybody seems to concentrate on the idocy of others and not enough on the idosity within themselves. You don't have to be stupid or ignorant to be an idiot. All you have to be is so convinced of yourself you find it inconcievable that you might be wrong and act upon that ideal irrespective of the evidence you walk over to get to your truth.

The right has been looking for another Regan to come up and save them and over the years of desperation their frustration has lead many of them to Donald Trump. What do you expect when you look to another mortal to do somthing that only God can.

Ideology is where the lines of obvious and oblivious are most obscured.

God save us because we are less than efficent at saving ourselve even from ourselves.

Stupid is as stupid does.

Trump qualifies IMO.

Hmm ... so socialism rhetoric equates with intelligence.

Thanks for the clarification.

That was not what was said. He said Sanders has more positions we can read to determine where he stands on the issues. So far, Trump is a 1 position candidate.

Why must you put your words in other people's mouths?

An elaborate treatise on a fundamentally flawed philosophy like socialism does not equate with intelligence.

Just sayin ...

In other words, your comment had nothing to do with what pakicetus said. Yet you still put your words in his mouth. Why must you do that? It is getting old.
