i believe there is one eternal truth...this life and universe are so vast in detail and full of vast arrays of science that it cannot make sense that there is no reason for it all...but the thing is, normal christians believe in one eternal truth, mormons believe in a different eternal truth...what is it that determines who's right and wrong, how can we know which is right

So what if its right or wrong, if it helps them become better people than its a good thing....Cant we all just love and accept eachother for one second in the day??
And it is my opinion that thoughts like these come from the devil himself. God is a god of love, not a god of hate, which this post expresses very vividly.jezusfreak said:

Becoming better people doesn't get you eternal life...and neither does religion. Trying to show someone that they are believing in a lie and that their souls are headed for eternity in hell...now that my friend is what I call love. Allowing them to go on believing a lie...now, that I call tolerance and tolerance is NOT showing love to anyone. It is about a relationship with Jesus Christ and knowing him for who he is...God....that will show you that you MUST repent and turn from your sins...then you will be saved and have eternal life.
God hates lies and He hates perversion of truth.Jenda said:And it is my opinion that thoughts like these come from the devil himself. God is a god of love, not a god of hate, which this post expresses very vividly.
Like so many Mormons, you seem to have made the mistake of not realizing that the so-called Decalogue stone is a late-date forgery. Even if it were for real, it (and the so-called "Bat Creek stone," also a forgery) cannot have been a product of Lehi's group of immigrants since the Hebrew script used on both of these stones originated in Judah after 600 B.C. when Lehi's family departed for the New World. The Declaogue is written in Square Hebrew, which developed in Judah post-500 B.C. It's also got some Greek letters mixed in there. The Bat Creek Stone is in a Paleo-Hebrew script that showed up around the time of Christ.Jenda said:Before everyone goes jumping onto the "no Jews in America" bandwagon, maybe y'all should take a look at this.

That does not make Him a God of hate. Maybe if you had read both of my posts and taken them together, you would have understood what I was trying to say, instead of taking one of my posts out of context.happyinhisgrace said:God hates lies and He hates perversion of truth.
Sounds like this Wyrick fellow had a "nack" for finding things, too. Did he use a peep stone to find it, or perhaps a divination rod?CaliforniaKid said:Like so many Mormons, you seem to have made the mistake of not realizing that the so-called Decalogue stone is a late-date forgery. The Decalogue stone was "found" by David Wyrick, who also "found" four other Hebrew inscriptions in Ohio between 1860 and 1867.

Jenda said:No, love and patience is how you should express your belief that someone is following a false belief. Stating that you believe someone is wrong with anger and hate doesn't show that you have a relationship with Christ at all.

When Christ encountered the woman caught in adultery, did he show her, or even her accusers, anger and indifference? Why should you do less?
Sorry, perhaps I should have clarified my meaning a little better. "Paleo-Hebrew" is a term used to describe pretty much all ancient Hebrew scripts. Paleo-Hebrew scripts have evolved significantly over the centuries, and we can usually date an inscription by what KIND of Paleo-Hebrew it uses. Square Hebrew falls under the category of Paleo-Hebrew. So yes, it's true that the Decalogue stone was written in Paleo-Hebrew. But it's also true that it's written in Square Hebrew, and that Square Hebrew post-dates the emigration of Lehi's family to the New World.Jenda said:You are so totally wrong it is unbelievable.
The stone is not a forgery. It was written in paleo-Hebrew (not square Hebrew), and it was found long before paleo-Hebrew was known as a language. And paleo-Hebrew is the language the Hebrews used before they were taken into bondage in 600 BC. So it is precisely the language that Lehi and his family would have known. It is the square Hebrew that the Jews came out of bondage using.

There is no doubt they came from Asia. I mean, even if you LOOK at them, they have characteristics of the Mongols, Chinese, Japanese, etc.
They came by way of a land bridge. It makes perfect sense to me.
As for the Book of Mormon, I mean, it says that Jesus was born in Jerusalem. Doesn't that say something? He was born in Bethleham.
These two simple facts discredit your argument.
This is a website that has a lot of info on Mormonism and other groups.

Well Jenda, The Bible is what states that these lies come from Satan...that Satan himself appears as an angel of light. So I am wondering if your problem is really with what I said or with the Bible? Yes God IS a God of Love...but he is also a JUST God and he has provided the way, Jesus, and Joseph Smith has created a horrible lie that so many "nice" people have fallen into. I am sorry that my "blunt" "straight forward" way of expressing myself has offended you, but I reassure you that I am not expressing hate towards the LDS people but rather I hold MUCH HATE for Satan and the lies that he had Joseph and all LDS propegate.
