CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, if the Apostles could not "bear" the Truth, and so it was delayed some centuries, how would later generations bear it better than they? And how can we know what IS Truth, if it is ALWAYS open forever to new revelation? Who is the "you" Christ speaks to? I would hope that if the Apostles would write much of Scripture, the Holy Spirit would be able to reveal all to them. And if St. Paul could "bear" being taken into heaven, how could he not bear the IC or Papal Infallibility? Likewise St. John - if he could bear to receive Revelation, why not the Catholic doctrines as taught today?
I think there is a fine line here, and one we may neither of our "sides" be able to "prove" to the other.
I might ask this also? Something like Papal Infallibility - if it is based on St. Peter, did St. Peter himself have it?
