Romans 1:22-25
Professing to be wise, they became fools, [23] and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man--and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. [24] Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, [25] who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

Here is a passage that maybe difficult for some people to understand. But it does talk about a people who profess to be wise, when in fact they have become fools. Why? Because they do not know God. Their image of God has become corruption. They are filled with man made opinions that do not reflect God at all. So, they know nothing about God & they do not know the truth.

The result is, their image or theorys about God's creation becomes corrupted also. They exchange the truth of God for a lie. Not only in regard to the Creator, but in regard to creation also.

This was going on in Paul's day, almost 2000 years ago, and it continues to go on today. This passage comes from a letter Paul wrote to the Romans. Even today, Greek and Roman thinking has a impact on people who reject God and reject their Creator.

Then they will loudly proclaim: Evolution is not atheism! Read what the passage says again:

Romans 1:22-23
Professing to be wise, they became fools, [23] and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man--and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

They do not DENY God, they just change their image of God into a image of corruption. They make God in man's corrupted image. Their thoughts, theorys, and opinions of God are corrupted.

Just as they have become corrupted in their image of their Creator, so they have become corrupted in their image of the creation and how God created.

Again, how did you come to the conclusion that these passages address evolution and science ? Couldn't these passages also address religions which have animals or animal/human hybrids for Gods ?

I love the way you guys censor anyone who doesn't agree with your precious evolution theory. I don't know how many times I've been reported by you angry evolutionists because I believe the Bible is inerrant rather than science textbooks.

Let me see if I can say it in a way that won't get me in trouble.
IT IS MY OPINION that evolution is religous in nature.
Evolution is a theory which needs NO GOD to bring about life. Sure, you TE types believe God used evolution, but that's beside the point. Evolution does not need a God.
This is from the dreaded www.theyoungearth.com "effects of evolution" article:
Every religion seeks to answer four questions.
-Who am I?
-Where did I come from?
-Why I am I here?
-Where am I going when I die?
If evolution is true then man is nothing special at all. We are only here by random chance. There is no purpose in our existence. In fact, we are decended from protoplasm that washed up on a beach "millions" of years ago. When we die, that's it! Lights out, it's all over. We become nothing more than wormfood.

THIS IS MY OPINION. According to the infamous "rule #1" that you guys whine so much about, am I allowed to hold this OPINION??????

If we look at the whole passage, then it become more clear.

Romans 1:20-21
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, [21] because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

We can know God, by doing a study of His creation. When people reject the truth, they reject that you can know God though a study of His creation. Let us take a look at Darwin:

Charles Darwin’s grandfather was a famous biologist, and his father was a medical doctor. Charles started college studying medicine (he was supposed to be a doctor “just like Dad”), but didn’t like it and dropped out. He was interested in studying all the living organisms in the world around him: he wanted to be a naturalist. In the 1800s, typically most men who went to college and were not studying to become a doctor or lawyer studied theology (theos = God, god), including anyone who wanted to learn more about any of the sciences or mathematics. Thus, Charles went back to school to study theology to be a naturalist, studying under a chergyman who was a botanist. In typical college student fashion, he eventually graduated, then decided to see the world before settling down.http://biology.clc.uc.edu/courses/bio106/darwin.htm
In Darwins day, if you wanted to study to be a naturalist, you went to a theological school. Now we have the theory of evolution and there has been a skism, to where the school of theolgy is seperated from the study of naturalism or a study of the world we live in.

Couldn't these passages also address religions which have animals or animal/human hybrids for Gods ?
The only other time I have seen this passage quoted is in the threads that have to do with homosexuals. But I can not comment on that, because I tend to avoid those threads, they do not interest me.

Well, the bible doesn't give scientific details about our universe. There is no instruction manual in the bible we can look at to see how it exactly works. So Christians have to look at the universe itself when it comes to that. Also one can study the natural world without being a Christian or knowing Christian theology, it's nature is still the same - thus the "skism". And as the TE-s point out, God's creation seems tell the story of evolution, unless you prove that they are suffering from the Godly delusion (in which case the whole deal about knowing of God through his creation becomes questionable).

Jeremiah 51:15
He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding.

It is though wisdom and understanding that we can study the natural world that we live in. God gave us the ability to know Him though a study of the natural world. But man will exchange this for a man made substitute.

1 Cor. 1:20
Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

There is a wisdom of the world that is foolishness to God. Just the same as God's wisdom seems like foolishness to them.

Then in that case wouldn't it be more reasonable to assume that if there was a God the evidence for it would be in the entire universe, and outside of the Bible, thus making the Bible really irrelavent?

Rule 1[/url]]Rule No. 1 - No "Flaming"

1) You will not post any messages that harass, insult, belittle, threaten or flame another member or guest. This will include misquoting another member out of context. You may discuss another member's beliefs but there will be no personal attacks on the member himself or herself. This includes implied accusations that another member is not a Christian.
Look at that highlighted section. The bizzare assertion that evolution is a 'pagan religion' implies that theistic evolutionists are not Christian. That is why mhess13's post was against the rules of the forum, not becuase we are trying to 'censor' him.

John, after all the irony meters of mine you have blown to smithereens I should have learned to not click on your threads. So, what does this passage have to say about guys who make cockamamie ad hoc assertions that turn out to be utterly false? What conclusion is to be drawn then?

Wild animals make cute little pets, but you will never get any work out of them.

I asked for one example of a species that unknown before 7000 years ago. I'm assuming that since you include horses in your list of domesticated animals that somehow were created seperately at that time that you are asserting there is no evidence for Eqqus existing before 7,000 years ago?

And I don't even know where to begin with your cockamamie assertions about domestic version of animals. Take the chicken for example. The domesticated chicken is just a version of chicken that had traits that allowed it to be domesticated by humans. In turn, this advantage allowed it to become one of the most successful bird species in history, inhabiting every tropical and temperate environment world-wide. The Atwaters Prarie Chicken, a wild species however, is on the endagered list.

Getting back to the extinctions of the late Pliestocene, as several of us have pointed out already, they were due to climate change likely combined with hunting by humans.

Extinct: Wolly Mammoth, Wolly Rhinocerous.
Survived: African and Asian Elephant, African and Asian Rhinocerous.

Survived in the north: Musk Oxen
Survived in tropical: Cape Buffalo.

Or should I start posting the Skulls photo to this thread and asking you to draw the line?

Every religion seeks to answer four questions.
-Who am I?
-Where did I come from?

....And evolution seeks to answer none of these questions. Whether it answers them for you is irrelevent, that is just you projecting your beliefs onto the theory. The theory doesn't actually SEEK to answer these questions.

Is it ? How does the fact that God "established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding" change the fact that the natural world exists objectively and can be studied whether one believes it has its origins in the Christian God or not ? Secondly, what is being replaced ? As I pointed out before, the bible contains no scientific knowledge, no details on how/when or exactly what God created.

Okey... but there are Christians who accept evolution and also the wisdom of the christian God.

One could shoehorn it into answering 'where did we come from', but it can only answer it in a mundane physical way, and has no position one way or the other about the spiritual nature of Man.

Creationism is religion because it is based on the Bible. That is a fact, not an opinion. If Evolution is a religion (or a pagan one at that) than you should be able to show us why. If evolution does not require a God (which is true), then please explain how you can claim it is a Pagan Religion. Why not admit that claiming Evolution is a religion is nothing more than a TACTICAL PLOY to advance a POLITICAL AGENDA that requires that Creationism gain Pairity with Evolution in Public Schools?

The Bible can never be irrelavent. Anyone that loves the truth will love the Bible, because it is truth. Also, we are to be what the Bible says we can be, we are to do what the Bible says we are to do. So we are in effect living, walking, talking breathing Bibles. The reason I am alive, the reason I have breath, is because of the miracle power of God. If I were ever to drift away from God, then I would soon come to realize how much I depend on God to give me life, health and healing. The very breath I breath, is because of the miracle power of God.

So, if it were not for God, I would not be here writting this post.
