Why do we have to put up with this in the science forum?
This is still a christian forum. Also I am using the Bible to defend creationism.
Why don't we have a talk with Erwin to see what he thinks about it?
Do you think he is going to object to people quoting the Bible?

You were not defending creationism. You were attacking evolutionISTS.

I'd love to discuss your participation in this forum with Erwin. Anytime. I see this a lot from you lately: "Erwin, Erwin, Erwin, -attack- Erwin -attack- Erwin". Do you really think I would be devastated if I was to be deprived of the privilege of reading your incessant drivel? Your posts are juvenile, irrelevant, and nauseatingly predictable (please don't bother with your typical "thanks for telling us about yourself" crud; it should've been stopped long ago).

This passage comes from a letter Paul wrote to the Romans. Even today, Greek and Roman thinking has a impact on people who reject God and reject their Creator.
Greek and Roman thinking (Greek particularly) has had a massive impact on all of Western culture, don't think Christians or creationists are excluded from this.

Also belief is not a choice. I do not and cannot reject God because I have no control over what I believe.

I did not make myself very clear. What I was meaning to say is that some of the false teaching today that we find in science goes back to the Romans and the Greeks. Early church fathers argued against it. Even Paul's letter to the Romans came up against some of their false beliefs.

Titus 1:12-13a
One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, "Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons." [13] This testimony is true.

C'mon, let's have a discussion.
What do you want to have a discussion with him about?
Do you want to ask him if it is ok for me to quote the Bible on here?

You know my wife is always asking me to do this stuff for her also.
But in her case, English is her second language so at least she has a pretense of a excuse.

Just what is your complaint so I can present your case to Erwin for you.

Again, completely out of context.

The 'wisdom' refered to, is in the context of spirituality, morality and seeking God's will in our lives, (or in this case, the lack thereof). It has absolutely nothing to do with the sciences, auto mechanics, indoor plumbing, cooking, reading, writing, math or other such knowledge.

How many times do I have to remind you of this before it sinks in, John?

Actually I'd love to have a talk with Erwin about off-topic trolling.

But I doubt you'd enjoy the conversation.

Yes. Ask him anything. Bring him on.

You know my wife is always asking me to do this stuff for her also.

Poor girl. Her only outlet is a fool like you...

Just what is your complaint so I can present your case to Erwin for you.
My complaint is that most of your posts don't belong in this forum, because you are an idiot, and you seem to know as little about theology as you do about science. Bring Erwin on, you name-dropping fool.

She is not complaining, she knows a good thing when she sees it.

Could you be specific on these beliefs?

Also, were there early "church fathers" in the time of the Greeks? I have a very poor memory for dates.

I would hate to tell you but that is definately not the case. Pythagoras was Greek, and his equation

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

is still around today. You even have the story of Eratosthenes:
http://www-gap.dcs.st-and.ac.uk/~history/Mathematicians/Eratosthenes.html

Where in he calculated the circumference of the Earth even before the bible was written, and even before Jesus was ever concieved. He was very accurate, as well. And yes they knew the Earth was round back then.

In addition, you have the folks like Archimedes, Euclid, Aristotle, Hipparchus, etc. who proved many things mathematically and were very well versed in science despite having lived so long ago. In fact, if Ceasar wasn't responsible for the destruction of the great Library of Alexandria, who knows how much further we would have progressed.

Funny though, how the dark ages were immediately following the rise of christianity and the fall of the Roman empire...

Some people believed that he sold the books to help pay for his conquest and then burned the library to cover up for it.
They say there are copies of those books and others in Armenia.

Because you are scientifically illiterate.
Oh, I see, so what do you think the cut off point should be? Only people with masters degrees need to apply? Then perhaps we can let someone really special like Lucas in here, so they can worship the ground that he walks on. So we can put a sign up that says only ignorant people need apply, illiterate people are not welcome, stay out, go post elsewhere.
