hello people,

i wanted to ask what i can do about this problem with the correct rendering of the hebrew vowels. as of now the vowels in some applications are always rendered like that, do i have to install a certain applet or bugfix or switch something in my preferences (i use a macbook) to make it work ?

thanks in advance...

MB

PS: the picture is from a website called quizlet.com that i use a lot to learn vocabulary, it would be really helpful if the hebrew would show correctly...

Yeah, I'm mostly on the iPad recently, and I haven't figured out how to use vowels on here.

If you can get it to display in a serif font, it should display more properly. The sans-serif default font doesn't display the vowels very well. You know?

I just searched for a verb for "to burn" on google translator and it came up with 14 different verbs, thats insane. I hope not 4 of them are being used in conversational hebrew, otherwise I will never master the language haha. But I am making progress thanks to quizlet.com, an amazing website, and still absolutely 100% FREE !!

The word "burn" can be like "blaze uncontrollably" ("Fires burned nonstop for three days in the California forest.") or "be hot" ("He's burning up!") or "save on CD" ("I burned three amazing songs onto this CD before I left the house."). There are many meanings to the English word "burn," and each meaning corresponds to a different word in Hebrew.

So, it depends on the sentence that you want to translate. What do you mean by the word "burn"?
