Eric Greitens is suggesting more than headaches for some Republicans.

(Obviously I do not agree with or support this sentiment. But think it's worthy of mention.)

headaches continue

Greitens’s violent ad sets off GOP scramble to stop his Senate bid

State and national Republicans are feverishly shopping super PACs, planning an independent candidate and lobbying Trump, hoping to sink the scandal-ridden ex-governor’s comeback

Republican operatives and donors in Washington and Missouri are privately working to undercut the Senate campaign of Eric Greitens, the ex-governor who resigned in disgrace four years ago, after he released an ad that graphically dramatized hunting down members of his own party.

[Maybe if he had been hunting Democrats, it would've been okay?]

Republicans are testing out which line of attack against Greitens could be the most damaging. The messages included his personal controversies, such as an extramarital affair and allegations that he attempted to blackmail the woman with whom he had a relationship, as well as his attendance at the 2008 Democratic National Convention when Barack Obama was nominated. Two people who saw the results said the personal attacks moved voters away from Greitens, but not as much as highlighting his Democratic National Convention trip.

The GOP became all Trump all the time. Can it become anything else by 2022?

Not before the 2022 elections
If that looks possible, Trump will simply announce his candidacy for 2024.

The Republican Party could very well change before the 2024 elections, especially if they lose the Senate and some governorships because of the Trumpist candidates.

The BOTTOM LINE is that Trump and his lackeys are in control until after the 2022 elections. If there is a serious fight, it will when folks move beyond and focus on 2024 and the likely election of Disantis.

Did you watch the ad?

Nothing that any of the Trumpers say would surprise me.

I did go back and watch part of the ad.

I don't see any reference to the full ad. However, this is consistent with what Trumpers have been saying and doing since 2015, certainly consistent with their attack of the Capitol.

One candidate resigned the Missouri governorship in disgrace, facing criminal charges and allegations that an extramarital affair had turned violent. [Eric Greitens]

Another, an Alabama congressman, served as President Donald Trump’s warm-up act for the “Stop the Steal” rally that preceded the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, urging participants to “start taking down names and kicking [butt].” [Mo Brooks]

A third recently had his Twitter account temporarily suspended when the Ohio hopeful referred to some of the people crossing the southern border as “Muslim Terrorists” and “Mexican Gangbangers.” [Josh Mandel]

The early entrance of so many zealously pro-Trump candidates — all of whom have endorsed Trump’s bogus claims of rampant election fraud — is an early challenge for top Republican leaders in Washington as they seek to ... deal with their own internal divisions between those in the party who remain loyal to Trump at all costs and those who want to forge a GOP identity distinct from the former president.

All of whom have better chances of winning the elections than the democrats.

I wonder how well they’ll get out the vote while at the same time pushing the lie that our elections are a farce.
The idea is to come out in such a huge majority that there would be no chance of fraud swaying the election.

His whole commercial has him posing menacingly with various heavy duty weapons looking like someone I would hide in a closet to avoid.
I am not surprised.

That’s putting a lot of faith in a supposedly rigged system, is it not?

Unfortunately, once again that presents a danger. The Trump wing is simultaneously telling itself that its rallies are the hugeliest & also that the election system is untrustworthy.

So if they win they win, and if they lose they claim victory/fraud.
