  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

People need to act responsibly or be responsible for their actions. I have no issue with imposing that standard.

This was fun, I am going to unwatch this thread now.
Taking responsibility doesn't fall into a narrow little box you're comfortable with and punishment can be meted out without a lifelong sense that you're a failure imposed by parents who can't acknowledge their child made a mistake but CAN learn from it in a way that doesn't require undue financial and mental burdens

Which would also require a deliberate and concious effort to do. You don't slip and fall on a turkey baster or something. Again, 100% effective.
A deliberate and conscious effort in terms of such a thing can be done by one person without the other person's consent, as others have brought up, you assume it's always done by couples, even if that may be the more common manifestation

And as has allready been explained ad nausem that has nothing to do with the original point under discussion.

Are you suggesting that consent to sex is consent to pregnancy? News flash, you don't consent to pregnancy anymore than you consent to getting a cold, it's an independent process you don't consciously think of, kind of like your heartbeat

No one is claiming birth control is 100% effective: that's why abortion should be an option, especially if one can become aware of pregnancy at a point before it would be a concern beyond those who hypocritically don't advocate to treat fetuses same as babies in any other situation. Make child support start at conception, offer insurance coverage at conception. Consistency, right?

The original point is that this story is anecdotal and not representative of those who want to advocate for abortion rights. Or did I miss some point you insinuated onto this?

Consent to sex is consenting to the idea of becoming pregnant since it's the first step in the direction of reaching that outcome.

Pretty sure that 0 children are being aborted, considering that abortions happen before birth.
They are human from day one of conception, they are young humans, they are therefore children or babies.

Correct me if I am wrong...
Before RvW, white babies were adopted quickly and white parents would wait until they could adopt a white baby but many minority babies were never adopted.
Do you think that this would again become a problem with minority children staying in foster care all their lives?
Maybe, but if we look at adoptions that happen today there are people electing to take minority babies.

Nope, no confirmation bias. That is not actually what that term even means for that matter. This is just "following the science" , if you do not engage in intercourse, you cannot become pregnant unless you are Mary.
That can put quite a strain on a marriage.

In the context of birth control access it is, because obviously no birth control access applies in such a situation.
Well that's not true. The morning after pill, the regular pill, an IUD are all mostly effective against rape pregnancy.

All of which will soon be illegal in some states some of which also don’t have rape exemptions in their anti abortion laws.
