I sometimes print pictures on my personal printer, but unless it's for a one-time project or you just want to know what it looks like in print, it's really a waste of ink. Your printed pictures will fade rather quickly, and unless you use very expensive paper, very expensive ink, AND a very expensive printer, your faded pictures will be of rather poor quality to begin with.
You can always make a CD with the pictures you want to print, and take them to a local printing shop. Any JPEG should work at most places. Also, there are some VERY easy online places like
http://www.shutterfly.com that offer cheap prints by mail. All you have to do is upload the files, and they'll send them to you!
Bottom line is that now that you can print only the pictures you want to keep, prints are ridiculously cheap. Find a method that works for you, and you can have cheap prints that will last your entire lifetime rather than wasting time and money on a printout that will last less than a year!
Actually, to add to that, even if you ONLY print pictures with your printer, and you use regular quality paper, prints you order (whether online or at a shop) will cost significantly less. With high grade paper, a really nice print will cost about $0.50 USD where you can get a better and longer-lasting print for less than a quarter of that.
