Print or Digital?

Hi everyone, got a random type question and just looking for opinions. My wonderful husband just bought me an iPad for our 15th wedding anniversary I love the way books look on my iPad and since I have very poor eyesight I like the idea of being able to enlarge the font size. I am now considering using my iPad for my main Bible. I've seen several people, including our pastor who preaches from his ipad use e-readers at church but never really thought much of it until now. So I'm curious now....do you use a print (paper) Bible or a digital Bible as your main Bible? Should I make the switch?

I use digital myself.

Making the switch is entirely up to you. I know when we lose power I can switch to my paper. Though I have bad eyesight myself I find digital enormously helpful.

Words on paper or on a screen are the same words I can never understand this dilema between the two myself.

I use an analog bible most of the time. I love the sound of pages flipping, and the battery life is fantastic.

Books are actually quite useful even if you can't read the print (doorstop, weapon, booster seat, etc), but if reading is your purpose, and digital is better, then go digital.

I use both, but that may be because my tablet serves more as a notepaper replacement than anything else, having my Bible on my phone is also extremely helpful, I can keep it everywhere with me for quick reference, though I do prefer to use either my paper or tablet for the most part when studying.

I use paper Bibles. In this day and age we are moving away from a lot of things of old, and becoming more dependent on technology by the day, and I can accept that, but one of the few things I can't accept moving away from is books. Actual books. Covers, paper, and ink. The way it should be. My books (Bibles) can never run out of batteries or be completely useless during power outages. If eyesight is a problem, there's this cool thing publishers do - large, extra large, and giant print.

But then again, I wish I lived in the days of log cabins, transportation by horse, etc, so my opinion is biased.

I appreciate what you all had to say about this. I decided to keep my paper Bible as my main Bible....there is just something about a print Bible that is just more personal. I did decide though to start putting all my reference material and notes on my iPad. One of the things I'm loving is Evernote. I'm in the process of putting all my sermon and Bible study notes onto Evernote. Doing this makes my notes searchable, so now if I want to find something on say, the Holy Spirit, I just type it in and it finds all my notes on the Holy Spirit. Pretty cool.

The internet could have a cyber attack (at some point) thats always a possibility, and if everyone is paperless (at that point) that would sure stink. I keep both.

I mean, "anything" could happen really. You could become unemployed (lets say) and might not have the ability to tune into or even fix your digital stuff too (or something similar). And that would leave you without an alternative source (paper) if you go paperless.

Its just good to keep a back up. Like keeping candles when our electricity fails, its common sense.
