You're using very specific theological terminology that relates to a debate within Calvinism. I suspect many readers won't understand it.

As a Lutheran I don't have a dog in this fight.

But from a Lutheran perspective the Gospel can be called both proclamation and invitation. Because it is Christ Himself who gives Himself freely to the world through Word and Sacrament.
