  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

One foot in God and one foot in the world. They think that they can act and do as the world does and then think they can get into heaven. They are deceived. God says be hot or cold, but lukewarn (which means you know better, but you do it anyway) He will vomit you from his mouth. I don't think that means that you are getting into heaven, my friend. Carnal christians, what Paul callled them are christians that have fallen so far, they have lost their salvation, God says if you continue in your sin, God will hand you over to the devoror, and there is nothing left for you but the lake of fire.

I'm sorry, I hope that I don't offend you, but just an observation, your picture looks so dark and demonic. If you are holy, I would think that you would want to get a picture glorifying God, not the Devil. If we cause someone to stumble, God will judge us. If you came out of New Age, you need to separate and be set apart totally, and that picture, honestly, if I saw it, I would not think that you are saved.

I'm sorry, but I don't agree. No disrespect, but God calls us to judge the church in Love. A little yeast leavens the whole loaf, if you allow sin to continue in the church without saying anything, then their blood will be on your hands. If you see a christian in fornication, you are going to tell me that you wouldn't give her the truth? I guess you never really loved her because if you did, you wouldn't want her soul to burn in hell. We as christians need to confront more and be honest and Timothy says we are to rebuke, and in the bible it says that the Rightous shall judge.

Timothy may have said some such silly thing, but did not Christ say, judge not lest ye be judged?

The Righteous shall judge? How about our "righteousness is as dirty rags?"

Not Paulian? That's at least something.

Discrimination is a priceless jewel.

Real or fake Christian?

Christian-Definition: One who is Christ Like.

Are you Like Christ? If you are then you must be a true christian.

By their fruits ye shall know them.

Don't believe you are like Christ?

Then how could you be considered a part of his body?

I thought I'd start a discussion on this. How do you deal with the fact that there are fake Christians around, as well as luke warm ones?

it is a fact that there are fakes, phonies and hypocrites, Christ said "woe" to them...that is what i say. i don't waste my time on them. i make sure that i am real, and know God for myself, He will deal with the rest.

We can speak the truth. Some in such churches may even hear. But we can't keep fakery out of the control of Laodicea churches for that is what they love. See how fast the controllers see you to the door and all with the backing of their itching eared congregations.

I think Jesus would say to such, he came not to save the righteous (those who think they are) but to save the sinners (those who know they are wrong and want the true savior).

Also he told his disciples to dust their feet on the way out of such places where they would not hear the truth.

I feel our time is better spent talking with the sinners of the world than beating our heads against a wall fighting fake Christians who love their fake religion. Let the blind lead the blind.

when i find that someone is blantantly being "fake", I just step out of their way and have nothing to do with them, ever. eventually, they will "choke" [as did I]. Let the blind lead the blind, there is no better saying pertaining to this concern.

All we can do is obey the TRUE Holy Spirit [not the one manifesting itself in "laodeciean churches" and on TV], pray for those who say they are but are not, and pray that God forgives us if we are being prideful.

I don't think there is such a thing as a fake Christian. Everyone has their relationship with God and thats between them. When you look at someone, even if you think you know them well, you don't have all the information as to why they are there being looked at by you. Hope that makes sense. You only get a glimpse of who, what, why that person is the way they are. Thank the Lord its not down to us to make decisions like that. My best policy so far is to love as hard as I can and be as truthful as I can. I don't always get it right but that won't stop me getting in when it matters. And worrying about it won't stop you either.
God Bless

I agree.

Do you determine their falseness by your perception or God's? SELAH!

How does God deal with your falseness?

And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;
(Heb 12:5-12 KJVR)
That my friends is how God deals with TRUE falsehood!

If we see a fellow believer in sin we are to seek to restore them in the spirit of meekness. If they reject the council of the church and the word then we are to break fellowship with them so that they be ashamed & not influence the rest of the church. Then we are to pray for their repentance.

forgive me for saying this but that sounds very pharissee-ic.

I sin everyday, as I am sure you do SF. To judge another is a sin and I do that as well.:sorry:
I have thought some christians where/are fake in my church but I leave it between them and God.

I'm very sorry you feel that way, but it's exactly what Jesus said to do, read Matthew 18:15-17. The Apostle Paul also did the same in the church of Corinthians, read 1 Corinthians 5:4-5, 9-13. Do you disagree with the scriptures? www. realseriousfaith .com

I have a friend who is a pastor of a small church who has labelled most of America's churches, especially those within Charismatic ranks, as the "Babylonians." This word describes the misguided, those professing and contending for weirdo cult-like doctrines such as WOF and the impartation silliness. Also, it includes those who are gullible enough to support such hogwash.

How do we deal with these people? The Bible tells us that if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. Walk away. No sense in attempting to restore such a one in the spirit of meekness as you will be casting your pearls before those who cannot hear.

I know Christians who are both more and less devout to Christ as myself, but I don't judge them. I don't personally know their relationship with Christ and its not up to me to say what they are doing is right or wrong by my standards. It's between them and the Lord. I have to work on my own relationship with Christ before deciding whether someone is fake or not

I think yes we should use our knowledge of what God wants to analyze the world and reject evil, but forgive and desire to encourage the weak Christian.

However, we are not to condemn any person, it's not our job, it's God's job...however, we can see and judge sinful behavior, abhor it and even be disgusted by it...but to the person we must do what we can to bring that person back around to submitting to God, even if it sometimes means temporary tough love.

The woman at the well, Jesus awakened her, chastised her, but had mercy on her, and sent her off to repent in earnest.

:amen:The original poster asked

Many of the above answers; scripturally are sound and spiritually are godly. Whenever I think (and pray for) fake and lukewarms christians; I have realized that I was once one of them.(of sorts; going to church but not realizing that my faith would either provoke others to jealousy or confirm their disinterest in Jesus.) I have to continually ask the Lord to forgive me "for not knowing what I did" and ask Him how to show them what He has shown me. :prayer:

The "fake" ones and the "lukewarm ones" for the most part, IMHO don't even know it. Sharing with them and loving them THROUGH their immaturity onto spiritual maturity is hard but what we are called to do as part of the body of Christ.

2 Timothy 4:2 NIV (Preach the Word)

Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.

Matthew 13:18 (Sow the Seed of the Gospel message everywhere)

"Listen then to what the parable of the sower means:

When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path.

The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.

The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful.

But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown."

Jesus told them another parable: (Let them grow together until the harvest)

"The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away.

When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.

"The owner's servants came to him and said, 'Sir, didn't you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?'

" 'An enemy did this,' he replied.
"The servants asked him, 'Do you want us to go and pull them up?'

" 'No,' he answered, 'because while you are pulling the weeds, you may root up the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.' "
