Depends on the economy and what Bush does in the next year or so. My father has voted Republican for 20 years, but he's so angry about what the Republicans and Bush are doing fiscally (deficits and all) that he's seriously discussing voting Democratic just to remind them of some of the things they were voted in on.

And, in his mind, running up the bill when you're broke ain't one of them.

Bush can be beaten, no one thought his father could be beat either. I am going to be voting for him, but since I am registered in texas it wont really matter, he will win texas no matter what. Just to poke fun, Clinton and Gore both lost their own states.

John Kerry and John Edwards both have excellent chances.

One big prob for Dubya is the VP slot. Cheney will have to be replaced because of his health (voters tend to get antsy about that) and the GOP has slim pickings for a substitute. Dick Lugar, Arlen Specter, Chuck Grassley, and few more GOP Senators would be vetoed by the right wing as not far right enough. That leaves an unknown unless he wants to put Brother Jebbie in there---well, Juan Peron was elected prez of Argentina with his 3rd wife Isabelita as his VP (not Evita, she was #2), so why not Jebbie? Oh, wait---this ain't Argentina. ;)

I don't think chenny is going anywhere, but if he does, he has plenty of bright stars in his own administration. But if I had to pick someone other than Condi Rice I would choose John McCain. Hey, this is a fun game.

I remember a few months ago seeing a Saturday Night Live rerun where the Demacratic potential candidates were each trying to eliminate themselves so that they didn't have to run a losing campaign against President Bush and his post-Gulf War popularity. Bush lost.

I'd love to see Bush pick Alan Keyes as his next running mate!

Many problems with that:

1.  Keyes has been on radio and tapes of his broadcasts would be available.

2.  He actually believes what he says.

3.  He has no significant experience, leading to concerns about his fingers on the button.

4. Despite their public praise for him other Republicans hate him.  Despite being a true believer he's smarter than the lot of them.  they don't like that.

5. He's not a racist (no more than the rest of us, and, he is African-American--so who will reassure the gomers?).

6. His positions on social issues are anathema to about 50% of the voters and disagreed with mildly by another 30%.

Sorry.

More than likely it will be a Bush loyalist (Bushes are big on that).  So maybe if it can't be Jeb, it'll be Katherine Harris.

It Can't be Katherine Harris. But if it was I'd laugh my rear off. You know what? I think I am becoming a bit of a racist. My top three choices for VP, Condi Rice, Alan Keys and Colin Powell are all black. I know for a fact I am didn't plan it that way, they just happen to actually be the top three choices right now. Infact everything most conservatices love about President Bush, is being done by Condi Rice and Colin Powell.

Why Allan Keyes? If I recall the Republican debates, Alan Keyes blew everyone away? What makes him more likable as a VP rather than a Prez?

Even better! I would have LOVED to see him win in 2000...
