Do I find him likeable. Absolutely not. Am I Democrat. Absolutely not. I prefer to spend my time defending the rights of our military veterans and their families, the right to own whatever is within reason to protect their families from harm. The right to their much needed health care. There are 600,000 veterans registered for disability claims and that number is increasing. I can't stand the rights of politicians to maintain their salaries even after serving in office. I can't stand their personal, protected health care plans that have nothing at all to do with the condition of today's health reform. They don't even fall under the same requirements. My prayer is that God will disable their ability to control and that they soon learn to respect America and stop socialism from digging its paws into our hard earned money, our homes, our families. It's not being prejudiced, it's being real and honest.

As a veteran I find 90% of the disability claims to be gross. I volunteered for six years of service and knew what the possibilities were when I signed up. Getting injured is a good possibility when someone joins the military and most "disability" claims are ludicrous! Most of the people I know who were getting out of the service started going to the dr with "back problems" or "neck problems" a few months before getting out and would laugh about it when talking about it. I had many of the out processing people concerned because I was not claiming any disability at all, even with my previously documented back pains, heart problems, carpel tunnel, PTSD, and severe depression. One of the main reasons our government is in so much debt is all of the people wanting a hand out. I have been to the VA clinic many times and have no complaints about any service that I received at all.

Do you mean freedom to choose abortion or gay marriage? It's not like he is making Michelle have an abortion nor is he wanting a divorce to marry a man. He simply thinks that people should have the choice legally.

In regard to abortion this is like saying, someone supports the freedom to have slaves, but doesn't actually own slaves himself.

The act is a violation of another human being's most basic right. The right to life. Supporting that is bad enough.

But, our current president goes beyond just supporting legalized abortion. He has supported infanticide. He supports partial birth abortion and in the past has voted in support of killing infants that survived abortions and were born alive. With abortion there is a sham of invisibility that allows people to pretend that its ok, because they don't see it (think German citizens in WWII with the concentration camps) But in these areas even that is cast aside and you move simply into the realm of pure barbarism.

On other issues, I think that this administration has been one of the most corrupt we've ever had and has perpetrated abuses of power that would have been unthinkable even 20 years ago. The only reason they have been able to get away with what they have is because the media covers for them, and many of the people are basically brainwashed cool-aid drinkers.

All of that said, I can genuinely say I don't hate or fear the President. I despise what I believe his beliefs and philosophies are. I dislike his actions. I think he has done more harm to this nation than any previous president.

But in truth, he is what we deserve. The people elected him, therefore the people clearly deserve him. If it wasn't him, it would be some other guy who would be doing the same things.

I confess I don't pray for him often, but that is because I really don't pray for government often or the nation often. I admit I'm very lax in that. I tend to pray for things close to home I guess. Something I should correct.

*edit* I'm reminded of an old quote "An American is a person who will cross the globe to fight for democracy, but won't cross the street to vote in a national election."

I sometimes wonder if we properly understand the verse where it says all leadership is from God. May be worth the study.

I would like to hear more about this also. We know God is in control and he Blessed this country. What are we to believe now that it is being allowed to be taken down so quickly?

Is it because we have kicked God out of everything, is it because we have allowed the murder of 52 million babies? Is America being punished?

Actaully abortion is not a sin in fact the talmund states the baby is the womb is part of it's womb and not a seprated person. That until the baby comes out it's not a person. The bible even states that you are born into sin. Jesus was not conside a person until he was born.

Romans 13:1-3 says, "Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished. For the authorities do not strike fear in people who are doing right, but in those who are doing wrong. Would you like to live without fear of the authorities? Do what is right, and they will honor you."

1 Timothy 2:1 First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men 2 for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

When I was in the military stationed overseas, we were under a Status Of Forces Agreement (SOFA) with the host country. In accordance with that SOFA, we were required to:

Obey their laws.
Honor their officials
Pay the taxes they levied on us.

Notice, this is exactly the same thing said to Christians in Romans 13.

I recall in the Philippines under Marcos, the Philippine Constabulary regularly set up bogus roadblocks to stop and shake down US troops. We complained to our general; our general told us: "Honor their roadblocks...or face disciplinary action."

But Romans 13 is the first part of the SOFA between God and human governments. That part outlines that we will be to human governments as Daniel, Mordecai, and Ezra were to their captor kings.

But 2 Timothy tells us what God expects in return from human governments:

"... that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity."

That's all. That's pretty simple. To keep an orderly society and allow us to do our mission...because all the Body of Christ needs from a human government is benign neglect.

The genious of the Founding Fathers is that after 1400 years, they figured it out. They set up a framework of government that did nothing more or less than fulfill 2 Timothy 2.

They were spurred by Roger Williams, the Puritan pastor who founded the first Baptist congregation in the US, and the man who first coined the phrase "wall of separation between Church and State" (no, that was not Thomas Jefferson).

Twenty years ago is just about right...that's about when it became unthinkable.

Farther back than that, and Obama doesn't touch levels of corruption that stemmed from the White House in many administrations of the previous couple of hundred years.

Christians in America tend to be 'way to America-centric. "Look at America! Woe is the Church!"

Really? There are 1,000 new Christians every week in China.

There are an estimated 50,000 Christians in North Korea--so many and so tenacious that after three generations of a policy of brutal extermination, North Korea has this year created what it hopes will be a "captive" Church, because it has failed to wipe us out. But that won't control us.

Christians in America forget that America is not our home--we are aliens and sojourners in the nations of this world. Our home is Heaven, and our nation is the Body of Christ. Even though we are scattered, we are a nation.

I sometimes wonder a few things:

a. America supports Israel, or at least it use to. Is there a blessing in that?
b. Have we been blessed so much we've forgotten God, like Israel did in their history?
c. At which point does it become too much, and wickedness rule? It has to in order to call things that are evil good.

What "we" are you talking about? There are Christians on this forum from China, from Japan, from Africa. When the group is Christian, the "we" is not America.

Jesus is not about America. Jesus is about the Body of Christ.

The Bible says nowhere I was born in sin.

Although he uses it in a twisted manner to support the unsupportable, the idea of being born dead in sin comes from such passages as Colossians 2:13, Ephesians 2:1-5, and Psalms 51:5.

But him using it to claim a person in the womb isn't a person shown his lack of understanding of what this even means. Even in Matthew 1:18-20, botht the scriptures and the angel refers to the child within Mary as it's own entity, formed from a 3rd party outside of herself.

Even secular people recognize the child is a different person as they have their own DNA and seperate blood supply. Since scripture states life is in the blood, then to be of the mother, the child would need to share the mothers blood supply, but it does not in any way. It's own blood supply means it has its own life apart from the mother, biblically-speaking.

My allegiance is to the Kingdom of God first, then my country. Obama/Soetoro claims to be a Christian and by doing so, he opens himself up to the same loving rebuke that all of us are subject to for the edification of the Kingdom. He places himself in the church by his statements.

No Christian could possibly support abortion to the extent he does, being the only senator to vote against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act because, in his words, it might dilute Roe V. Wade. He fully supports Partial Birth Abortion where a fully developed, full term infant is delivered feet first and, while the head remains inside the birth canal, the abortionist severs the infants spinal cord directly below the base of the brain, ending their life.

I wouldn't say he's any more evil than most of the Godless occupants of Washington, he just gets more press and a bigger pass because he's a major force in advancing the secular agenda. It's our obligation to pray for humanity and that I do. Obama is actively working against the Kingdom though and it's not easy at times. Many times I've gotten my hopes up, thinking he might do the Christian thing but he has stood with the Godless, secular world at every turn. Some might say that it's his obligation as President to do just that but at some point, he would have to make his faith known. He says one thing and does another. He's done more damage to the Kingdom of God than any of his former Predecessors with maybe the exception of Wilson.

Abortion is murder of the most defenseless in what should be the safest place of earth, a mothers womb. God, and only God, preordains who lives and who dies. He begins the process of life in a mothers womb and if we let it run it's course, it will result in a fully formed functional human being. We went through this process and are alive today to debate whether we should be allowed to make that decision for the child in the womb yet to be born. King David had it right when he said that God knit him together in his mothers womb. Just look at the reasons for abortion and tell yourself again that it's more important that a mother not be inconvenienced than it is for her child to have life.

Abortion is akin to the sacrifices of children & infants in the days of Molech. “Molech” is the name of a pagan deity to whom human sacrifices were made. This deity often is associated with Ammon (compare 1 Kings 11:7 —) “the abomination of the children of Ammon.” Leviticus 20:5 condemns those who “commit whoredom with Molech” (see also Leviticus 18:21 ; Leviticus 20:3-5 ; 2 Kings 23:10 ; Jeremiah 32:35 ). Some recent archaeological evidence points to child sacrifice in ancient Ammon which supports the events in the OT.

How many of us here would be honest and say we are afraid of the man? There are so many in Churches and online (even here in wonderul CF world) who seem to have nothing better to do than throw him down and declare he is next to Satan because of something(s) he has done in the past.

Here's where I'm going with this, how many of us have ever sinned before? How many of us before we knew Christ were less than perfect or moral? How many of us now that we know Christ are still less than perfect or moral?

If Jesus can forgive and forget our past then why can't we who dare declare we are filled with the Holy Spirit do the same for another who we may never see or talk to ever in life? It is time we stop spreading negativeity about the man, whether true or not, and lift him up to the Lord for wisdom, guidance, courage, blessing, and repentance. As well as other world leaders who we may fall under.

Depends what you consider spreading negativity. If speaking the truth of him to others and pointing out the evil things he does and stands for comprises spreading negativity about him, then I'd disagree.

Obama's true nature is vastly different from the persona he presents to the public. It's actually quite diabolical.

We can sure pray for his salvation, but I do not know about lifting him up to the Lord for wisdom/guidance when he has rejected these, even to the point of publicly mocking the Bible.

I think it's important to be discerning...and being discerning does not mean to be negative...

HisSparkPlug; Amen and Amen

There's something in the human psyche that will attempt to "normalize" the most abhorrent thing we can think up. Sacrificing infants to the burning arms of Molech was their effort to appease an idol, thereby gaining favor. Society today doesn't even look for a reward for the sacrifice of our infants, other than telling each other how enlightened and progressive they are for doing the same thing they did 5000 years ago. Satan laughs at our madness.
