Presidential Executive Order on Imposing Additional Sanctions with Respect to North Korea

The actions help de fund the programs that have been going on for two decades

The provocative, destabilizing, and repressive actions and policies of the Government of North Korea, including its intercontinental ballistic missile launches of July 3 and July 28, 2017, and its nuclear test of September 2, 2017, each of which violated its obligations under numerous UNSCRs and contravened its commitments under the September 19, 2005, Joint Statement of the Six‑Party Talks; its commission of serious human rights abuses; and its use of funds generated through international trade to support its nuclear and missile programs and weapons proliferation, constitute a continuing threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States, and a disturbance of the international relations of the United States.

In order to take further steps with respect to the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13466 of June 26, 2008, as modified in scope by and relied upon for additional steps in subsequent Executive Orders, I hereby find, determine, and order:​

Sanctions against North Korea - brilliant. How come nobody before Trump thought about it.

This will make them give up the nukes when the only country that has ever actually nuked cities in a war is threatening them with annihilation.

Yeah, great things are coming from this. Few more starving peasants will certainly tip the scales this time.

Kudos for the sanctions. Normally, I'd say let them work a couple of years before offering to lift them in exchange for toning it down, but I wouldn't trust either side to honor such a deal.

The sanctions are a good much, but so long as Russia, China, and Iran keep helping NK, their weapons will continue to upgrade.

Not really as they have their own sanction against them. It may not be harshly as other countries, but it still sanctions.

That statement can largely & truthfully switched around easily, just substitute "North Korea" for "United States" and vice versa.

The sanctions helped a but in 2006. The trick is to enforce actions against Chinese banks and against countries that sell oil to NK.

BTW, I didn't see anyone posting a better idea, or even an idea.
