  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Presenting (drumroll please).........

For those who think good food is expensive.

(You're welcome.) (Glass of milk was full but I took a sip.)

That actually looks really delicious!

Is that white thing an egg?

And is that some bread or something to the left?

1 large organic egg, over easy.
Homemade WW toast w/peanut butter (natural).
Hash brown potato patty.
1/2 Banana, sliced.
1% milk.

That looks delicious!

It was (burp). And now for a nice cup of coffee (Dunkin Donuts Original Blend). I love a late breakfast on Saturdays.

Looks like a sausage patty but is actually hash browns. I do have a couple of beef sausage links every now and then (they're pretty salty).

That costs a lot more that $1 where I live.

And for hundreds of millions of people around the world, this $1 meal is all they can afford for a whole day. In fact their entire income is no more than a $1 a day.

So yes, you are very blessed. I hope you gave thanks to the Lord! ;)

...you bought one egg, some milk, one hash brown, one piece of bread, a portion of peanut butter, a small banana, a plate, a glass and a table all for $1?
tulc(not to mention the flame to cook the egg and hashbrowns and toast the bread?)

Looks pretty good...to bad it's not a sausage patty, and you need to put the bananas on the bread with the PB. :)

I do that sometime as well. I sometimes have sausage links, but that raises the cost to over $1. This was to show a good $1 breakfast meal.

Yes, yes, yes, and yes. I carefully figured the cost of everything.

My boss provides my dwelling, including stove, refrigerator, countertop, sink, etc. The plate and glass were given to me by my nephew. The flatwear and cooking utensils were wedding gifts. My boss even pays my water bill (I do buy the dish soap though).

True, you could buy a lot of food with that internet bill money. I think I could pay for almost half of my monthly food costs with what I pay for internet service (and let's not even talk about my cable tv bill).

And as long as there is an egg or 2, I often do without the meat so, nice but not necessary.

I guess egg is meat but the more I think about it the more repulsive it sounds so, think I'll leave well enough alone. lol.

IDK, I was thinking it would be less than a $.

I had a black Forrest ham sandwich w/tomatoes, lettuce, mayo and sharp cheddar cheese for breakfast. :)

That sounds good too. I like sliced smoked turkey with a slice of muenster cheese on a 9-grain bread with mayo and horseradish mustard. I think that costs about $1.50 with a glass of milk.

I sometimes get tired of eggs as well, but they are very good food.

Reminds me of a joke.

Two guys are ordering food at a diner. The first guy orders a beef tongue sandwich. The second guys says, "I would never eat something that came out of an animal's mouth.......... I'll have eggs please."

So, one dollar, some have their own hen and grow their own salads and tomatoes and have own fruittrees and own berriesmoothie. Some days when we had hen I made salad with lettuce and apples, pears and an omelette with tomatoes, nettles and drank blueberries and red raspberries mixed with water. The blueberries and red raspberries I picked in the forest was free. Nettles were free, grows in the garden and in the forest, apples and pears grows in the garden,Then the cost is the seed for salad, freezing the berries and feeding the hen but in our case someone else paid the hen food and we tended the hen and so we paid taxes for the house and gave them shelter. My breakfast was barely even 30 cent. and kept me going until 15:00 in afternoon. Some days are luxuary, elk meat price is 15-30 dollars /kg or herring price 10 dollars /kg but easy on the meat and fish it out to last long. Mushroom, the yellow chanterel is free in the forest but expensive to buy, and its brown relative is also free. Then we can grow herbs and freeze them and a lot of vedgetables can be stored under ground in a basement. When I was a kid we basically grew all vegetables for the whole year ourselves as a survivalhack instead of doing hobbies ( my hobby was painting and drawing and riding) and we were no freaks, many people grew their own potatoes and a lot of carrots and other vegetables, (without even owning a tractor ) then they bought meat from hunters or hunted themselves and went fishing both summer and winter and some had cows. Those with cows had tractors.
