Prepare the Way
Monday February 14, 2011
For Zions sake I will not keep silent,
and for Jerusalems sake I will not be quiet,
until her righteousness goes forth as brightness,
and her salvation as a burning torch. (Isaiah 62:1)
10 Go through, go through the gates;
prepare the way for the people;
build up, build up the highway;
clear it of stones;
lift up a signal over the peoples.
11 Behold, the Lord has proclaimed
to the end of the earth:
Say to the daughter of Zion,
Behold, your salvation comes;
behold, his reward is with him,
and his recompense before him.
12 And they shall be called The Holy People,
The Redeemed of the Lord;
and you shall be called Sought Out,
A City Not Forsaken.
Lord, give me the strength to share in your sufferings and to bear the Cross. It may be difficult at times, but if I trust in You, You will give me the strength to endure! You endured the worst of suffering on behalf of not only myself, but all of mankind! I consider it a privilege to be able to serve you, but lack the strength to do it on my own. I need you in all fullness as I warn others of upcoming judgment and the need for repentance. Help me to be extravagant in my love for you, withholding NOTHING from you and obeying you promptly and completely. Help me to be fully surrendered to You! May my life be an extravagant fragrance leading others to yourself! May I speak and write only the words that you give me and may you receive all the glory!! I love you so much, Lord! Amen!
The following is a poem from the Springs of the Valley devotional and is also my prayer:
I shall not pass this way again,
But far beyond earths where and when;
May I look back along the road
Where on both sides good seed I sowed.
I shall not pass this way again;
May wisdom guide my tongue and pen,
And love be mine, that so I may
Plant roses all along the way.
I shall not pass this way again;
Grant me to soothe the hearts of men,
Faithful to friends, true to my God;
A fragrance on the path I trod.
AMEN!
