What is the translation of "lo", I have seen it used as "it", "him" and "I"...."I" doesn't make sense to me, but the others could I suppose. It's could be a variant of el....any help?

well, "lo" can be dificult to translate into english...
it can be used as a kind of gender neutral form...used to refer to concepts a lot.

lo is also used as a direct object pronoun for the words him, you and it (I have never seen it used in the yo form).

it is usually used to refer to an "it" fer example:
Yo lo hice: I did it
El lo hizo : he did it
ellos lo hicieron: they did it.

... or him:
Yo lo amo: I love him

etc etc,
