  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Wow, anyone from this thread still around??? :)

I am the OP. I just was doing some old searching and found this.

I will happily report that Nov 26, 2005 we had a healthy baby girl named Alexandra Marie. Alex is now 16 months old, I have been staying home since finishing college in May of 06. I never took any time off of school. We love love love our daughter and couldn't have asked for more. Life is a dream! We were married May 27, 2005 shortly after finding out we were pregnant and are TTC baby #2.

Is that for real?

In Australia, there are 2 main ways you can have a baby through the hospital system.

You can have a baby privately or public. In the public system you can see midwives for free, also when you have your baby, the hospital stay is free and as far as I know vaginal delivery and c-sections are FREE.

It is only if you have private insurance (like we do) and have an obstetrician of your choice (which we do) that you have to pay anything.
I want to move to australia!!!! so far I have paid my dr over $600 (and my insurance pays 80%) plus I still have the hospital, the dr is wanting to induce. and I have the hospital bill from a couple weeks ago when I was in over night for observation... got the bill for that... my portion is like 350... with my oldest the bills were so high that medicaid covered what my insurance did not

Congrats Aimee, and I hope you get preggers quickly. I got pregnant with this baby when my daughter was 17 months old.

Suprise, Suprise. My boyfriend and I are pregnant. Not expected, not ready, but not unwanted. I am 21, he is 22. I am a junior in college. He is employed full time by my aunt and uncle and makes $33K a year. Our problem? He has no insurance, once we are married (probably in June) I will have no insurance. Besides, my parent's insurance I am on does not cover pregnancy. We do not qualify for medicare. The income line is $28 or 29K for medicare. I have had cramping and bleeding this past week or two when I was supposed to have a period and I decided we should go get some tests. Because we are not ready for this, we were really shook up and still kind of care, just don't know how we are going to afford this baby. I'm not sure how far along I am yet. Maybe a couple of months. Anyways, Hi! (Any ideas for insurance would be appreciated!)

Wow, pretty neat you found this after all that time! Cool!

again, not sure if you're in the US or not, but i know that here, you can usually work out payment plans with a doctor if you don't have insurance.

with my daughter, we hadn't been married long, had insurance on my husband, but not me. so, we called the doctor's office and she agreed to allow us to pay her $300/mo until the end of the pregnancy. after that, they would just bill us whatever was left. we did that for a few months, but then my husband got a new job with insurance that covered me at 4 months pregnant (God answers prayers, you guys!!).
anyhoo, that's one thing to consider.
