If I am a baptist, is it worng to pray to a saint for help?

If you are a Christian it is good to ask others to pray for you. The bible tells us that the prayers of the righteous are powerful and effective.

Those with Jesus now are righteous.

Baptists believe its wrong to PRAY to anyone other than Jesus or God. On the other hand, Baptists frequently ask others to also pray for them. So you could include those who have passed on in your requests to also PRAY for your concerns, but don't count such a request as a prayer.

It is not only wrong for Baptists but for any Christian to pray to anyone but the Father. As for praying to those who are dead, as they cannot hear our prayers then this is certainly a problem where it even moves into necromancy. For some good instructions on how we are to pray we only need to go to the Lord's Prayer in Matt 6:9-13 where Jesus says "Our Father in heaven . . .".

Beside being able to pray to the Father in our native language, we can also pray to the Father through the Holy Spirit (tongues).

As a past Baptist I wouldn't have prayed to a Saint at all...I'm Anglican now and have used the lives of the Saints to inspire me when praying e.g. 'Father, may we be led by the example of Saint....' but I still would pray directly to God :0)
