Sadly, in the UK the police believe that praying silently in your head constitutes a breach to PSPO laws to protest or indicate approval or disapproval.

It's either the biggest mistake West Midlands Police have made in years else a sign of prosecution to come.

The question is whether the Christian community is going to do anything about it? Will you?

Praying is not what she was arrested for. She broke the exclusion zone around the clinic. If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime.

People going to the clinic don’t need people protesting outside to make a difficult time even worse.

You obviously didn't bother to research or even watch the video!

The exclusion zone, per se, is not a no-entry exclusion zone. It is a prohibition to indicate approval or disapproval of abortion by any means in a PSPO area. She was ONLY arrested because the police officer thought she might be in breach of this PSPO and the only possible method by which she could have breached it is by praying silently.

These are the facts. Please don't try to confuse others!

As long as it does not break the law Christians can do whatever they want.
Firstly, it's not been proven she has broken any law. She has been charged with four counts of breaching a PSPO (and this is typical of the police to throw as many charges as possible at the defendant in the hope that the CPS can make one stick).

Secondly, if she has broken the PSPO then it's because a court accepts that she indicated approval or disapproval in direct contravention to the PSPO. If that's the case, praying silent will have been found to be indicating approval or disapproval, and if that doesn't trouble you then you're not paying attention.

Thirdly, it is every Christian's duty to be truthful and to seek truth. I suggest you do that by checking out the facts before commenting further!

"when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. "
- Jesus

It is possible to pray without making a spectacle of yourself.
"when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

Sorry are you arguing scripture directs Christians to not pray silent on the streets because I don't see you commenting on the real issue here?

It seems as if I have done more research than you.

“She was later charged with breaking a Public Space Protection Order, said by Birmingham City Council to have been introduced to ensure "people visiting and working there have clear access without fear of confrontation". Vaughan-Spruce will appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on February 2 next year.”

She was not arrested for praying. That is a lie. And God hates liars.

Proverbs 6:19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

What kind of world is this when an atheist has to quote the Bible to a believer?

What I'm saying is standing on the street praying as a form of public protest has its reward, just as Jesus said.

Wow you really are showing your true colours here!

First you speak of an exclusion zone which demonstrated your ignorance, but when it's point out, you get all defense, change your story and claim you've done more research then me!

In response to me saying "She was ONLY arrested because the police officer thought she might be in breach of this PSPO and the only possible method by which she could have breached it is by praying silently." you argue "“She was later charged with breaking a Public Space Protection Order, said by Birmingham City Council to have been introduced to ensure "people visiting and working there have clear access without fear of confrontation" Huh? In your mind there's a huge contradiction between the two?

The fact is she was silently standing away from the abortion clinic, on a street corner when the CLINIC WAS CLOSED! How any sane person could think that was presenting fear of confrontation, else expressing approval or disapproval else protesting is beyond me.

Either way I think when the case comes to court on Feb 2nd you are going to look very foolish!

She was not standing silently. She was LURKING. That’s suspicious.

So YOU claim. Nowhere did the police say she was charged with praying.

You have manufactured this outrage for who knows what reason.

Why are you now trying to refine words in order to be right?

Lurking...."remaining hidden so as to wait in ambush."

She was in plain sight, not hidden and what was she going to ambush when the clinic was closed???

Turns out she is a repeat offender.

“Isabel Vaughan-Spruce, aged 45 from Geraldine Road, Malvern, was arrested on December 6 and subsequently charged on December 15 with four counts of failing to comply with a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO).”

She routinely breaks the law.

Romans 13:1 All of you must yield to the government rulers. No one rules unless God has given him the power to rule, and no one rules now without that power from God.

She’s not following God’s word at all.

No, the facts speak for themselves... it's just you don't like the facts.

She was standing and praying

The PSPO has several criteria... i) not indicating approval or disapproval ii) not giving fear of confrontation

Moreover the wording of the PSPO specifically mentions PRAYING being prohibited in indicating approval and disapproval.

Oh, how desperate are you? The offense to which you refer here is the offense we are speaking about. There is ONLY one offense.
...but don't let reality and truth change your view OR admit you made a mistake!!

No. The facts do not say anything about being arrested for praying. She is a recidivist who was arrested for continuing sustain for the law of the land.

Praying is not a crime. She was not arrested for praying. You’re making things up.

The fact you've made several mistakes here and won't admit them whilst giving false information is telling... and easily verifiable by anyone interested in the truth.

Here again you make a ridiculous unsubstantiated and false claim that she's a "recidivist" for which you have no proof but eager desire. It says a lot about your intention, motive and character... even if you don't like the truth herein.

The FACT is that the PSPO specifically prohibits prayer and so you're wrong but can't admit it!
