Its very obvious that you are interpreting scripture wrongly my friend! And so are those that think the same in your movement.
What you have not realised is that of the 8 Commentaries that I quoted, only one is a Pentecostal (Gordon Fee) where another is a charismatic (D. Carson); to my knowledge the others are neither Pentecostal or charismatic but most (but not all) would be in the middle ground where they are referred to as being "open-but-cautious". In this day and age any scholar of repute, even one who is technically a cessationist would be wary of presenting a cessationist position particularly when publishing a commentary on First Corinthians, but of course it does happen from time to time.

Interpretation is done by the gift of interpretation;

But if it's just another language, why can't it just be interpreted by a conventional interpreter?

Seems no matter which way we turn, we can't verify a thing... and that's a little too convenient to me. I need nothing verified one way or another, but still...

When pray in the Spirt (tongues), as the Holy Spirit always prays in a heavenly tongue then there is no possibility of anyone being able to understand what he is saying unless the Holy Spirit provides an articulation/interpretation.

They're also described as part animal, and with four faces and four wings. The point is that angels don't have a fixed physical form.

I would agree they don't have a fixed form per say. But my initial comments was to a poster who said they never appear as men...which as we know, is not true.

Sure if it were in another language the Holy Spirit would provide such. Just like we see in acts. We see Peter and other speaking in tongues and people who are of a different language group hear the gospel being spoken in their native language. Again, we use the bible to establish doctrine.

Thats an excuse as you know that what is being spoken is utter gibberish!

So are you saying it can or cannot be interpreted by a conventional interpreter?

What more can I possibly say, other than maybe:

1 Cor 2:9 but just as it is written,
“THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD,
AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN,
ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.”
10 For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. 11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, 13 which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.

14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. 15 But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one. 16 For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ.

1,000s of people in a place all uttering the same gibberish and not one person can translate what they are saying?

How old is your church? Very young! No 'solid' foundation my friend.

There are regularly 1000's of people in a place all praising God in the Spirit and many of them can certainly articulate/translate what they are saying - you obviously need to get out a bit more.

From what i have seen, the people are all uttering the same sounds / grunts etc but nobody is translating!

So, if it can't be interpreted by anyone because it cannot be understood by anyone, then even those in the churches that practice it have no idea if it's real or faked.

Plus, they have no clue what they are uttering. Where it is coming from. Who it is going to.

How old is my Church, actually it was founded on the Day of Pentecost.

And now it seems they've regrouped and found a way to make it legitimately unprovable.

Kinda like the evolutionists, "science proves nothing" and it happened so long ago no one can prove it so, we're just supposed to believe it.

Now your being plain silly. Whenever someone prays in the Spirit we always know that it is the Holy Spirit praying within us. It goes to say that we always know the purpose of our praise or with our supplications; as to the particular wording that the Holy Spirit uses then that's up to him. The Holy Spirit certainly knows more about whatever situation we are asking him to intercede on and as the Holy Spirit will be speaking of things that I probably should not even know about then that is between the Holy Spirit and the Father.

Ok, but its the gibberish that come out of the mouth that is false. The Holy Spirit is not a ventriloquist!

How can the Holy Spirit be a ventriloquist when he resides within the Believer?
