  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That's not faith. I make my decision on evidence. You know proof. My wife has cancer I think I trust the chemotherapy more its proven.

Hi...Even though you and your dear wife may not believe in G-d, many Christians would gladly pray for her healing. I hope the chemo works...it is generally vile stuff that poisons the body and makes the person feel very sick, but can be effective against some forms of cancer.

Of course most Christians go to the doctor as well, and sometimes a combination of prayer and medicine takes place...same with surgery, often Christians pray that the surgeon is able to find the problem and do a fine job etc....extra insurance I suppose....and a reassurance.

May the love of G-d reach out to you both through this difficult time, and please know that there are peole that care and a prepared to invest their time and energies in praying and fasting for your wife if she ever desires such a thing...either here on these Boards, or I am sure there are strong groups of Believers in your locale.

Kind regards. Zazal

Sorry that your wife and you ,have to endure this affliction.

So many people today are onset by this vile thing.

My wife and I stumbled up on a cure for basel cell cancer,it a natural cure she used on her face.
She was diagnosed with Basel cell and had set a date for removal.

This is a eggplant extract when you apply it topically if it burns a little and scabs you have Basel skin cancer.

Once the scab has dried the cancer will be dead.
Her doctor cut out a core sample, since she cancelled surgery and it was gone completely.

We are people of faith that God has given us the provision of healing,it does not always take a miracle when you walk by faith and we trust whatever God puts in our path for our help.

Just because you go to a doctor, will not rule out Gods provision.
Its only when you rule out Gods promises that you are left with trusting in mans ability.

I have witnessed more people cured from cancer than die from it,all types from brain tumors to skin cancer.

I know for a fact you can rebuke sickness and its right to your body,in the name of Jesus.

Some people don't believe that, still doesn't change it.
In Churches around the World their is sickness and death, most think it takes a divine miracle, for healing like a sighting of Mary or a thunderous voice saying you are healed.

A alkaline balance in your body will inhibit cancer,it cannot survive in a pH balanced enviroment.

God bless.

WOW, this is a topic I have been studying for the last month or so. I too have come to the conclusion that we should be doing way less praying for the sick and way more HEALING of the sick. Recognizing that we can only heal the sick by the power of our L__d who took ALL sickness on Himself at the cross.

I have also wondered whether the definition of prayer as we know it, "talking to G_d" is actually more broad and maybe means talking to the spirit realm. I know that sounds weird but we are made in G_d's image and we are creative beings like Him. Just finishing a series by Keith Moore on the power of the tongue and how powerful our words are.

We already have healing, we just have to get our minds to agree with our born again spirits and then healing will manifest in our bodies.

I think we have to be careful not to regurgitate Christian theological platitudes that do not reveal or explain specific truths, but sound spiritual.

How would you convey this idea in scriptural terms in order to generate faith in a persons heart? (avoiding Is 53:5; 1Pet 2:24 please.)

the way I would TRY to explain it is, we have all been given a measure of faith (Romans 12:3) and unbelief (Matt 13:58, Romans 4:20) can short circuit that faith. So, since faith comes by hearing, it is important to qoute the Word outloud allowing the Word to build your faith which can grow as seen in Romans 4:20. Also, we are to take every thought captive (2 Cor 10:5) and the reason I believe this is true so as to not allow the enemy to plant lies within your mind. We need to stay fixed on our Lord and what he says and not what we see or hear or feel.

I understand what you are saying, and I agree.

I think it is also because we are spiritual trapped in the body of this 'death' awaiting the redemption of our flesh, and therefore we can operate on one of two levels.

I know a great deal of emphasis is also given to devils and Satan that want to snatch away the truth, but I also think that the flesh and the things of this earth (mans common slant on life) are also very much in evidence, and one of the biggest hinderances to faith is lack of understanding (shallow teaching) and poor character traits (often hidden)...so much so that it is an easy option to blame devils for what we lack.

I am sure this Verse has been quoted already but just in case...

James 4:13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

Seems simple enough.

Zazal, I totally agree our struggle is on two fronts, the enemy and the flesh. I believe that at one point the church got out of balance when they placed to much emphasis on satan and demons but we may have swung to far the other way. I believe that the enemy is always trying to place thoughts in out mind and because of the weaknesses of our flesh we run with those ideas. So, I agree, we should not place the blame completely on the enemy, he is only part of the equation, he only plants the thought, we take it from there. Again, that is why it is SOOOOOO important to take EVERY thought captive.

Ultimately we have the responsibility to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling, and to learn to walk in obedience, led by the Spirit and not by the flesh, it's called 'running the race'.

My brother I have to disagree.

That is a sacred cow verse that is twisted in salvation through works,

Those in Christ have salvation and every other blessing has already been done.

Do you think this bolded phrase means that to be saved you must "work out [your] own..." Is salvation in any way tied to your working out something??

Again you misunderstand my emphasis bro and I was using it entirely within context...eg that we are to recognize and understand the value of our salvation and to act according to that understanding...it is precious, we have been bought with a price, and as such we are encouraged to operate out of newness of life and walking in the Spirit.

I have never advocated salvation by works, but I know that if a person claims to be a Believer in the L-rd, then woks of faith are a natural by product, which was the point taken up by James.

Absolutely not...I quoted it roughly, in the context that it was meant to be understood...that our salvation brings with it a responsibility to live according to whom we profess to know and love...I would have thought the rest of what I said made it pretty clear.

There is nothing anyone can do to earn salvation...it is a free gift.
Every other religion and Christian cult emphasizes what you have to do to obtain enlightenment or acceptance or worthiness etc...but in G-d we see that the Just died for the unjust...the Lamb paid the price for our sins even when we were lost, afar off and dead in them, walking in the desires of our own deceptive hearts. I hope that clarifies things. :)

No bro, I knee jerked.

I have been studying a teaching,on bible verses that are misinterpreted.

How statements are spoken can change the meaning.

Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

The context of this is often misinterpreted, notice not as in my presence.

Through translation we find the intent of this verse was make sure you salvation is in effect.

Other words do not forget your salvation in Pauls absence.

Precisely....stand on your own two feet when I am gone sort of thing (to use the non-theological patois).

"He gave us the authority to do it."

In that case, I'm 70 years old, I've had 2 open heart procedures, and I'm carrying 16 Stents. My last Heart attack was in 2006 (#13). My Mitral Valve is starting to "Go South" (only 2 out of 3 leaves still working), and 1/3 of my heart muscle (Fortunately the BACK 1/3) is dead.

I'm still fully functional, working full time, and making music regularly (probably somewhat of a miracle in that, since they only gave me 10-12 years - 21 years ago).

But having a heart in that condition is a genuine pain in the posterior. The "energy reservoir" is getting pretty shallow, don'cha know.

SO - as the Centurion (who RECOGNIZED Jesus' authority) said to Jesus: "speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed."

So then by the same token:If you've got the authority to speak healing to my heart condition -

Go ahead and do it. I'm ready. I'll recognize the change when it happens, and give testimony of it.

Do you believe in salvation?
Do you believe God has provided healing for you?
I do.
I will speak to your condition and claim you are healed, only if you believe in healing as much as salvation.

Its done now you just have to believe in the power of the name of Jesus with me and it must be healed, you are healed in Jesus name Amen
