  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Has anyone read these books? Have they helped you any in your prayer life? I have looked into them but I'm not completely sure about buying them. Is prayer a hard thing for you as it is for me...I'm always searching for the right way to pray.

So many books have been written on the subject of prayer. I haven't read these.

Prayer can be as easy as breathing. Prayer is talking to God in a modest and honest manner, telling Him your needs, telling Him your problems, asking Him for guidance and to help others, and offering Him thanksgiving and praise. Prayer is "closet-ing" yourself with the Lord by keeping your mind on Him. God already knows what we need before we ask (Isaiah 65:24) but He desires communion with us, one-on-one. If you have a burden, pray until that burden lifts and the Holy Spirit gives you peace, then praise God for hearing you. The right way to pray (for me) is simplicity. Don't worry about the words to use--often I don't use words in my mind; it just pours forth from my heart directly to God.

Good wishes.

I use the prayers from Prayers that Avail Much in my prayer life. What I like about them is they include scripture for that particular subject you are praying about. So you can use those scriptures in your own prayers as well and you can see what God has to say about your concerns. I will often pray the prayers from the book and then meditate and speak those scriptures through out the day. For me Prayers that Avail much has been good supplement in my spiritual walk and they have been a faith builder as well.
