CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Thank you all. Needless to say it has been a pretty good day.
No risk factors does not guarantee but it does mean we proceed normally. I think I am going to buy the nurse who did the double check some chocolate.
My greatest joy in this is, the news of course, but also that Nicolle and I immediately went to God and all those who would pray and we never faltered in our love for each other and the baby.
God has given me such a blessing in her and given us such a blessing in our marriage and it's strength. To see her smile this morning was such a gift. God is good. New parents always worry if they are ready for a child. I think the last few days, although stressful, can be seen as a gift where we found that indeed...with God, each other and our loved ones praying for us(including all of you) we indeed are ready.

David, I just read this for the first time. May the Great Physician hold you and Nicolle in his ever loving care and nurture your baby through term. Take courage that His plan for you and the baby are great.

Lord, I also uplift those who do have Down Syndrome~ may you bless them and help them through their lives and bless their families with patience, hope, and peace to follow you always. Wonderful! I had my suspicions about the test/ers. I don't know why but God put it on my heart to pray for the medical people in their jobs too.
I count them finding this error to be a miracle for you and yours and an answered prayer. (where two or more gather).
I praise the Lord that such a test of faith for you and yours was as brief as it was and offer prayers for those new parents who are stressed over similar issues to full term and beyond as well as all the medical personel everywhere.

Yes it is great news..of course the test is so inaccurate...who knows. Like I just wrote to someone: "Who knows. God does...and we are very fine with that indeed."
I'll say Nicolle was worried about if we were ready to be parents. Two days of planning how to raise the baby if there were problems and how to adapt to it...makes you see that love will make you ready for anything at all
Of course I still plan to obsessively watch the baby while he/she sleeps for the first week to make sure they are ok. You know...new parent stuff

This is my tip- when you fall asleep for the night ask their guardian angel to wake you if baby is in need of any help. I don't know, that always helped me to be at peace.

I saw those baby position pillows that keep the baby on the back and help cut down on SIDS because they don't get stuck on their bellies and such.
I said to Nicolle..."We should get like 5 of those." She told me she loved me and I was an idiot. I said I was aware.
