I have been doing some research (more so reading the Controversial Christian Theology threads) and the doctrine of hell is really shaking me up. I think this is the first time I really sat and thought about what it means. The UR proponents make a better case philosophically, those is the CI camp make more sense logically, but the ED proponents seem to have Scripture lining up with them better. Its causing me some serious stress, so please pray the Spirit to reveal to me the truth and to understand and accept whatever it may be. Not only to accept it, but to be at peace with it because it is His will.
Edit: Changed ECT to ED, I want to be fair in how I portray each view.
I don’t see how it matters what people say based on a doctrine. The only doctrine that’s important is the gospel and what God say in His word.
I don’t know if you ever heard preaching on “outside the camp” Exodus 33:7 KJV, Hebrews 13:13-14 KJV. “Outside the camp” has other meanings relating to Israel, but for us in Christ, we seek Him outside the camp, believing only His word, believing only His doctrine regardless what others say. Our salvation is not based on doctrine others abide by, so we ignore them and go “outside the camp” away from men when needing to know the truth of the Bible.
Apostle Paul gives this warning, Galatians 1:8-9 KJV.
There’s nothing wrong with assembling to worship and study, but when you become confused, you must go “outside the camp.” God is calling you to sanctification and there is no power that can do that accept the Holy Spirit.”
When the Holy Spirit deals with us, it’s outside the camp, meaning alone with God praying for revelation, peace in your spirit, strength in our inner man, desire to read the word, revelation of the truth!
Turn your mind from man’s doctrine, and turn to Paul’s doctrine, the gospel. Paul said He is our father in the gospel of Christ, 1 Corinthians 4:15 KJV. Through his epistles, the gospel of Christ, Romans 1:16 KJV, Paul is presenting us as chaste virgins to the Lord, 2 Corinthians 11:2 KJV. No one else can do that because Jesus gave that service to Paul, Acts 9:15-17 KJV. Listen with the heart as you read and study Apostle Paul’s teachings and the other epistles.
As long as you believe on Christ you are saved and will not suffer in the fire. Christ saved us from God’s wrath, Romans 5:9-10 KJV.
